GSD Dub Discussion

Well, i just seen a dubbed episode of Gundam SEED Destiny and i am very dissapointed with what they done.

1. Shinns voice sucks. And Shinn needs a good voice since he pwns so much
2. WTF They cut out a few things that were in the first japanese episode
3. :| LOL, most voices sucked!!

I really hate dubs. I always had. But i thought they would try and make a decent dub for an anime as good as a Gundam anime. >:| curse those licencers

I remember hearing Shinn and his horrible voice a couple of months back in some sort of 'spoiler' video from the first episode. The voice didn't really fit him. Can't wait to hear him get all angsty and start screaming when Stellar dies and stuff. Oh god...

Vino and Lunamaria also had sweet voices if I remember correctly... *cough*

I didn't even know that Gundam Seed was dubbed let alone GSD.

Just look in the GSD download topic. Someone posted it there on a random page. It really does suck. They always ruin the good anime

Well I just got the first volume of it today. The voices are okay, but I definitely prefer the japanese voices.
I mean they weren't too bad, although I haven't really watched it in the dub since I just poped it in at my friends shop to watch it a bit.

But I really wonder how they'll do all the screaming since alot of the new characters do alot of screaming in this series =P.

who would have guessed? i mean from the opinions on these boards SEED's dub sucked so why should GSD be any different? (I never planned on putting myself through torture so i never bothered watching it dubbed)

Destiny's dub is decent. Shinn's not perfect, but Matthew Erickson is a good voice actor, he just needs to make Shinn not sound too much like Van Flyheight. He does a good job with Shinn's anger, surprisingly.

The only major voice that sounds weak is Durandull's, but your comparing Ted Cole(a decent voice actor) to SHUICHI FREAKING IKEDA(probably the biggest voice actor in all of Japan). He does alright, but the line at the end of Episode 3 was nowhere near as cool, dubbed.

The other voices sound fine, and I have no doubt Shinn will grow into his role. Kira sounded weak at the start of the SEED dub, but by the end of the series he had surpassed the Japanese voice in every way.
