Bandai Visual's site put up a listing for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Special Edition: The Broken World, which goes on sale May 26th.

And returning once again to the rumor mill, a post on 2ch contained what appears to be a copy & paste of a sales solicitation for the Destiny Special Edition stating that the Destiny SE's will be 4-parts rather than the traditional 3 for Gundam compilations. Also mentioned is that the Special Edition will be broadcast on TV sometime this Spring. But the bigger potential news is the following detail: "The SEED boom heats up! OVA 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73 Stargazer (tentative title)' currently being planned!"

Edit: The listing for the SE at Aishin Mail Order's Rakuten site confirms all the above information.

Destiny SE should hopefully fix some of the problems, and will hopefully give much less screentime to Kira, and more to the Minerva crew.

I'm expecting good things from the OVA, as well.

If you mean the Seed OVA "Stargazer CE 73" the title say CE 73, which is along the time frame of GSD. Im guesing that maybe its a Side Story.

I was refering to Destiny SE about that. Develop the story more for the retelling.

I'm betting the OVA will either be new characters, or side characters like the Joule Team.

Its taking place durinig the war based on CE 73.

i hope this ova will be some side story or something with new characters... but i think it will just be a retold version of GSD... but then again, the "stargazer" may not neccessarily be shinn its right? lets just hope for the best..

Special Edition is a remake, the OVA is something entirely new, most likely focusing on different characters.

waaaaaiiiiit... am i getting something wrong here? you mean GSD SE is different from GSD

targazer? great!!! hopefully the ova will be something way better than GSD as a whole... they need something to reclaim all that CE glory in SEED that they somewhat lost due to the semi-lackluster GSD...

But damn, all that time between the episodes? It makes me hope the episodes are at least 30 minutes long.

Hopefully they'll lead into after the conflict so that GS3 doesn't have to pick up the way it did in GSD. -___- Hopefully it'll set the stage for GS3 and won't be like Endless Waltz where they had "custom"d suits...

The SEED SEs were all around 90 minutes or so I think. I see no reason that Destiny's won't be a similar length.

Same here, if they decide to do a Gundam SEED 3. But Bandai/Sunrise did mention a while ago that a Gundam anime was in the making and I believe they weren't refering to this OVA. Ah, we'll know soon enough I guess.

I love those customs suit though, especially heavy arms and the new tall geese

so the DSE ova stargazer is like a remake with some additional scenes?? whee.. I am so excited.. I can't wait 'till this gundam subforum are filled with ppl again.

Er, no.

The remake and Stargazer are two entirely different things.

"Special Edition" is the 4 part remake. Stargazer is a brand new story.

New info in (credits to Nitro from Penetrate Gunpla Forums):

The story continues directly after Destiny's end "Break The World".

The main gundam in Stargazer:

The main gundam is called GAT-X105E Strike Noir and will be piloted by a 19 year old natural pilot called Sven Cal Bayan. And on a sidenote, the guy dosen't like coordinators and apparently, he is Phantom Pain's 2nd Lt.

The other character is the coordinator scientist Selene McGriff. She is 28 years old and a researcher in the GSX-401FW Stargazer Project.

Staff:
- Director: Susumu Nishizawa
- Script: Shigeru Morita
- Character Designer: Kenichi Ohnuki
- Mecha Design: Kunio Okawara, Beecraft

Know what I see? I see no Fukuda. Know what that means? Oh yes you do. Also BeeCraft is mecha designer, I bet we can look forward to some awsome gundams in the OVA too.

Also, the Stargazer OVA will be 3 episodes, each 15 minutes long. So, sorry everyone that hoped for a bunch of 40 minute episodes.

But on the other hand, the short episodes makes a new SEED anime even more likely to come out in a year or two. I mean, why create 3 short OVA episodes just to have it all end after that? I think these three episodes will be the introduction of the new cast for a new SEED anime. Welll, that's my two cents anyway.

I'm pretty sure no one was expecting that for Stargazer, Special Edition is what we know will have longer episodes.

Also, Fukuda mentioned that Special Edition will be told from Athrun's perspective.

According to Fukuda, if its told from Shinn's persepctive, Kira becomes the villain. If its told from Kira's perspective, Shinn becomes the villain.

I can understand what he's going for, but I still wish it was Shinn's perspective.

Beats Kira though.
