Gundam - Help!?

Ok, ever since I've been into anime everyone I know has ranted about how good gundam is and I never really got round to watching it. So last night, I surfed onto amazon to see if I could buy the first couple of dvds and I was confronted by god knows how many different variations of the gundam name,; gundam wing, mobile suit gundam etc. Which is the first series, so that I can start right at the very beginning!

mobile suit gundam started it all.
but you dont need to watch all the series from oldest to newest
other than mobile suit gundam, zeta, double zeta which requires to be watched in that order to understand, i believe

I didn't care too much for Z or ZZ though <.<;; And if you decide to watch SEED, then watch that before SEED: Destiny.

Gundam 0079 is thee first Gundam and its really good and its what got me addicted into Gundam.

Ok the Gundam Wing, G gundam, are there own things. Gundam seed and Gundam seed destiny are connected. There is the original and the movie connected. I think the 00 gundam series are connected. *they are in chronolical order* So yeah.....

For starters, I'd recommend the ones in red. Watch SEED before Destiny since Destiny takes place after SEED.

If thoes get you hooked, at least SEED, you could give the ones highlighted in blue a try. To watch these two, you don't really need any previous knowledge from other gundam animes and are both nice animes.

What about Turn A? And if you like the anime, you could always check out the manga aswell, lots of other stories like G-Unit and such.

Well, Turn A is a bit like this to watch.

First of all, the main character, Rolan, dresses up as a girl alot, which is very wierd to say the least. The people of earth (at least this particular village that they live in) think that the Turn A, which is buried in stone is some god, and they worship it. Well, they do realize that it's a mobile suit later, and that it is a weapon used in war.

The story is nice and all, and the action is really good once it gets going.

People might like it, people might not like it. I for one love it. But that's just me.

I heard that Turn A is also the most over-powered gundam ever, but meh. I thoroughly enjoyed After War: Gundam X, and I hope to see the 08th MS Team soon.
