Things you wanted to happen in Destiny that didn't happen...

The title pretty much tells it all - what are the things that you were expecting in Destiny, but never happened?

I'll finish watching the series before I give my thoughts. How about yours?

and uhm... i did not get to see much of yzak and dearka... all they did was make me laugh when they had talking scenes...

The death of Shinn, dunno why but I really saw this happening yet it didn't not that its a bad thing but he really had it coming in my opinion oh well.

More Yzak and Dearka action. Some Shiho action as well. The girl was just there. Talia not dying. Rey not dying. Unfortunately, it's all too much to ask.

Wow...I got tons of things I wanted in destiny like:
Lunamaria dieing instead of Heine, then meyrin going crazy and taking Lunamaria's place as a soldier..talia not dieing.....stella not dieing (shinn and luna makes an ugly couple)...Auel not dieing....shinn dieing....mia not dieing (so we wouldn't have to waste a full episode for her)....girty lue shown more often.......yzak and dearka more developed...shiho more developed...kira actually started crying again..lol jk

Great fights, the best fight out of the whole series for me was Freedom Vs. Impluse. You guy saw Shin in that fight, if he fought like that like more of the time people would like him more. Plus most of the other fights were just: astrys blow up, ship's main cannon is blow up some how, and the cool suit just tryed talking out their problems(well atruan and kira aleast). I just was dissapointed in the battles after the Strike Freedom, Jutice, Destiny, and that other one(Ray's suit) appered. They had so much more possibilities, but peronsaly I thougth Shin + Impluse was the best Destiny shoot down his preformance IMO.

I want to see Shinn killed Mue in revenge of Stellar. (Although its naive for Shinn to believe some kinda of promise from a MASK MAN)
Shinn ended up killing Athrun (probably due to Athrun's action unintentionally resulted the death/injury of Luna) and Kira finished Shinn off.

After watching the series, I personally wanted to see the following events, but apparently, didn't happen:

1. Shinn Asuka and Kira Yamato fighting together as allies after kicking each other's asses (not against each other) in one scene/situation. I don't consider their being "together" in the battle against the Destroy Gundam as one.

2. Lunamaria Hawke dying. Not that I hate her or anything, but actually, believing that GSD is like Zeta Gundam, and Luna is kinda like Emma Sheen, in which she acquires the protagonist's first Gundam, and dies in the end of the series.

3. More of Rey Za Burrel-Neo Lorrnoke "rivalry". They only fought once and it never happened again.

4. More female pilots. Again, in reference to Zeta, wherein there were a lot of them.

Wooo I have a small list here now... especially after rewatching the last few episodes again.

1. Shinn dying. Nuff said, he was a bad character.
2. Lunamaria dying. Going out with Shinn should have sealed her fate.
3. Cagalli action, sure it was bad enough she and Athrun aren't together anymore. But did she have to sit at Earth and do nothing?
4. Yzak and Dearka screentime.
5. Stellar clone would've been cool.
6. Clyne faction winning against all of ZAFT again. Such a small force against all of ZAFT and EA allies. Speak about the impossible...
7. Longer kickass battles between Athrun and Shinn, Kira and Rey.
8. Rey being the real puppeter instead of being an obedient dog to Gil. Raww was the one who was basically pulling the strings on Patrick.

3. Shinn to beat Athrun in the final battle(but not kill him)
4. Kira to die in the Messiah explosion, rather then inexplicably making it out
5. Neo to stay with Djibril
6. Sting to stick around longer
7. Either the Archangel or Eternal destroyed
8. More Yzak and Dearka
9. Neo/Rey rivalry(this could've been awesome, but got ignored later in the series)
10. Orb characters to not be such jerks(Oh no, Dullindal wants to end wars, that bastard!)

More character development for Shin. and I thought he is the main character here, instead Athrun steal the show. Disappointed that till the end Shin remained an angry brat. Put the blame on the author.
More Yzak/Deaka/andy fighting scene. They should end with a more 'OMG OMG they are going to die! I must protect them!' desperate fighting scenes.

Did Mu miraculously survived and reappear just to please his fans?

I wanted a coherent plot that followed a new cast of characters through a new conflict. A story that watched these new protagonists grow in a convincing manner that gave comparisons to the mistakes and growth of the original cast. I wanted an original cast that kept in the background with maybe a few exceptions. I wanted the plot to progress in a steady manner towards an inevitable climax that was the logical outcome of the events. I wanted a clear concise main character that remained the main character throughout the series. I wanted a final ten episodes that felt like the final ten episodes. I wanted a final ten episodes that were ALL building up to a finale. I wanted a final ten episodes where THERE WAS NO SHOPPING AND BALERINA TURN DEATHS. I wanted returning characters to be consistantly in character. I wanted characters to grow logically. I wanted things to happen for obvious reasons. I wanted plot threads to actually lead to places(Stellar and Neo anyone?).

But most of all, I wanted it not to suck.

It's a nice illustration, but the problem is Shinn wasn't capable of pulling it off.

Shinn was able to take Freedom down because he had time to prepare and outstudy him, alot because of the fact that Freedom was made by ZAFT, so all the data was there. This however wasn't the case with Strike Freedom which was made by the Clyne Faction, so it was impossible for him to know any data of Strike Freedom. He knew what Kira was capable of doing, but he didn't know what the suit was capable of doing.

Besides, in the end, they matched it up in the end like this:

Failed Ultimate Coordinator Experiment vs. Ultimate Coordinator

And...

Failed Apprentice of Athrun vs. Athrun, the Master Himself

That's why it was impossible. But, if that happened it sure would have been awsome to see.
