Wait, what? Don't bullshit me. If you have something to say, say it; I want to hear your clever argument for restricting hundreds of millions of gun owners because the 180 accidental gun deaths. Justify swimming pools when they're 200 times more likely to kill the child.

I know my 8 siblings and I have gotten into some nasty fights that could have gotten much worse had one party had access to firearms. Thus my parents wisely decided to not have any in the house for a very very very long time.

I think this little boy may very well just have traumatized himself, his sister, and his mother, for the rest of their lives. I hope they can someday forgive him. There is no punishment the state could levy on any of them that would be worse than the sorrow that this boy has brought upon himself.
I say it's a nominee for the Darwin Awards. Some people just aren't responsible enough to be parents and leaving a firearm in the reach of a child is an incredibly irresponsible thing to do.

My parents always had firearms in the house, however, they always had it locked up and I didn't even know of its existence until I was mature enough to handle one and know the consequences and responsibilities of owning / using one.

People need to be more conscious of where they put their guns, and if their children can access them. Discussions about it come to mind as well.

It's terrible that the father died. Utterly terrible.

Ahhh...
That's really sad it's weird for me to feel pity for the kid in situations like this. But seriously poor kid. I bet it was self defense but the kid will still have problems his whole life.

It's also possible the boy and sister were abused and this was possibly defence. We don't know the details. Hell, this could be an awesome example of guns being used by a weaker person to defend themselves.

What's sad about this is that it isn't really the child's fault. Kids get angry and do things out of emotion. All kids do. The difference is that most kids don't have access to guns so they just hit instead or something.

The real sad thing here is that the kid had access to a gun. Now the kid is going to be sad about his dad dying forever.

That's terrible... both about the father and the kid.

Eye on the TV
'cause tragedy thrills me
Whatever flavor it happens to be

Like:
"Killed by the husband" ...
"Drowned by the ocean" ...
"Shot by his own son" ...
"She used a poison in his tea,
Then kissed him goodbye"
That's my kind of story
It's no fun til someone dies.

That's why the 2nd amendment should be amended from "the rights to bear arms" to "the rights to arm bears".
