From a pure strategic viewpoint (Inherited abilities, Political standing, etc.) Hinata.The Byakugan is a potent ability - maybe not as strong as the Sharingan or Rinnegan, but There aren't exactly any potential mothers with those particular abilities running around.

You'd also have the fact that the Hyuuga clan is influential in the Village, and their political sway would be very useful to a Hokage.

As for any other reasons... I avoid flame wars as a matter of principle.
