Does One Piece appeal to girls?

I'm just assuming the majority of the One Piece fan base is male, well at least the people I know are, so I'm just wondering if One Piece can still attract alot of girl fans. I'm not sure if it appeals to them or not, though I'm sure still a few girls like it, not saying no girls like it. But compared to something like xxxHolic or Full Metal Panic or even shonens like Naruto and Bleach, which I know has alot of fan girls, there doesn't seem to be so much pairing wars in One Piece. Plus One Piece isn't a shoujo manga, which seems to have lots of fan girls too.

Not as much I think. I do know of 2 girls who read OP irl. 1 of them counts it as 1 of the best mangas they've she's ever read.

I was introduced to OP by a girl , Who kept telling me everyday how awesome it was compared to other manga which I read ..... in my group of friends the girls were the first to read OP and finish it ....

It took like 400 chapters to introduce a hot guy like Duval or whatever that guy who used to look like badly-drawn Sanji is called, so probably.

I have seen a few, many being Sanji and Zoro fangirls, and some Law fangirls, but overall I do not think OP appeals to the female demographic as much as its counterparts. It doesn't really have the uh, "elements" that seem to mainly draw in a large following of female fans.

I'm pretty sure there's girls who look past "Pretty boy" stuff. It's a shounen so it's targeted to boys. Girls will like it aswell unless they are in for yaoi bullshit.

One Piece doesn't have that many fangirls (thank god for that) due to its lack of bishies. I for one am glad that Oda doesn't fill his manga with shitty bishounens to attract fangirls.

One Piece does have a good number of non-fangirl female readers though.

I'm a girl, and I love One Piece.

Not so much because of the characters' looks, but their personalities, abilities, what they're all about..etc.

Most of my female friends don't like One Piece though..

They're too busy reading their Shoujo BS.

As for bishies in OP..

Ace, Law, and Sanji are total bishies imo.

...Maybe Zoro too. lol
