Can Might Guy Perform More than Taijutsu?

I was wondering if he can perform ninjutsu or not, because i recently watched some episodes from when Rock Lee was fighting with Sasuke before the Chunin exams took place, and before Guy appeared there was a giant turtle with a leaf village headband around it's neck and eventually Guy appeared on top of it.

So did Guy use the summoning jutsu? Because it certainly seems like he did despite the fact he's supposed to be like Lee, in that he is a Taijutsu specialist, so can anyone clear this up?

Gai can indeed preform Ninjutsu, as suggested in Kishimoto's Databook and the fact that he summoned Ninkame, as you suggested.

I believe that Guy focuses too much within the realm of Taijutsu, which may explain why he doesn't use Ninjutsu that often; ergo, he may feel confident in his skills in such an art.

Gai relies so much on taijutsu because he knows there is a limit to the amount of ninjutsu one can output, I mean, look at Kakashi who ends up in hospital after a Chidori. Also it (ninjutsu/genjutsu) isn't a very manly style of fightng. With Gai's top level physical conditioning he can outlast anyone who uses ninjutsu (except Kisame).

I know, i never understood the point of that either. That turtle has never appeared since and probably never will XD.

I think he can, but his fighting style is simply geared towards Taijutsu and nothing else.

He summoned a turtle and dispelled a genjutsu so I'm going to assume yes He believe he mainly focuses on taijutsu because of his respect for Lee.
