The 5th of November
The gunfire, sirens and screams

Post here for anything related to Fawkes and fireworks on this fine or foul November 5th.

For the non-Brits who don't know, this is the day we remember when Catholic extremist Guy Fawkes (and co.) were caught attempting to blow up the Houses of Parliament and King James 1 of England (VI of Scotland) for the countries decades long persecution of Catholics and for the King's betrayal on a promise to reverse that.

Every year in Britain we burn an effigy of Fawkes in a bonfire and launch fireworks. The bonfire celebrates that the King and Parliament were saved. The fireworks celebrate that someone tried to blow them all up. No matter where you are from, we can all appreciate one man's dream to blow up politicians and Kings.

Made famous recently by Hugo Weaving in V for Vendetta. Happy Guy Fawkes Night everyone!
