song vs. its cover

Here is a debate for you:

Brownsville Station's original version of Smokin' in the Boys' Room Versus
Motley Crue's cover of the same song. If you haven't heard the song, both versions are, as far as I know, available for download on Walmart or Itunes.

Personally, I'm a "original version is the best" guy. Any thoughts?
