ok, i am trying to get bittorrent to work on my computer. but it doesn't ever seem to work on this one. at my other house it works and i did not have to do anything but this one i do, i think.

i have two computer one has quest dsl (router/modem in one), on the other one i am using wireless internet from quest going through the router or w/e i don't know.

i am not behind a firewall on this computer but on the router maybe, if it is how to i check it and how to get it to let bittorrent download.

umm do i have to like set the ports to something, if so what

What type of error are you getting? If the bittorrent client doesn't work, I suggest using a program like azureus or something.

http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ So far this is the best bittorrent client i've used. Make sure you have java installed onto your computer.

there are two possibilities
1. there indeed is a firewall on your router and youll have to make it open ports in order to let BT do its job

or

2. ur ISP is blocking info directed to your open BT ports...use another client other than the original and change the port range with which it acceses the net

Google the term "port forwarding". That could help.
