I'm the same with the one that uploaded the video. Some pretty mixed feelings since those sound clips, but now that the clip was used for the video, I can definitely say Mion and Satoko had great results. Keiichi and Rena aren't that terrible. They can put a lot of emotion in to it but it's hard to think otherwise. I can't say a lot about Rika. The voice is what a little girl would sound like, but hearing that over Yukarin's magnificent voice is pure blasphemic to the ears.

My god. This is so messed up. Episode 8 ... with the walking dead, the torture room, and the twin-sister-killing ... was actually the least disturbing episode so far.

I agree. To tell truth, I'd love for a company to buck up and release the DVD's here at the same time as Japan. There are very few of my sets that I even watch in dub mode. I'd buy the DVD's if they were only subbed. At least then I wouldn't have to wait a year or even two for the good shows to come over.

You can get the manga in this site (http://hinamizawa.e-n-m.net/releases). Well, all chapters are out, but not all are scanlated yet.

But don't worry, I heard that the anime-original arc is going to fill in the "holes" that the first season left out. Ryukishi07-san is taking care of that.

And I'm sure that pic of Keiichi wearing a swan costume is a result of a punishment game. :lmao

^Actually Onikakushi-hen is one of the least gory arcs, so it will get much worse, especially since these are the DVD versions with all the scenes uncut and uncensored.

......But if I can deodorize this chlorine taste for eternity just by thinking of a good excuse, then yeah, I can see how it would be worth it to spend the time to think of one.

I fill the cup with mineral water, ......and poured a little bit of it in.

Watching the colored shadow mix into the transparent water is a very pleasant thing.

Apparently, this isn't the correct way of drinking it, but since this way of drinking is just right for me, I don't want to hear any complaints.

This convenient body lets me get drunk even with only a tiny amount.
That's why I dilute a small amount to the fullest.
And thanks to that, I can enjoy a single bottle for a long time. It's not bad if you think about that.

Placing a seat cushion down at my favorite spot by the window, ....I hold the glass in one hand, with the familiar scenery and wind that brushs through my hair as my companion.
A faint sweet ripened aroma tickled my nose.

............Just when I'm about to start enjoying this atmosphere, I sensed the annoying one coming back.

It appears that she doesn't approve of this bad habit of mine, and complains every time I tried to tilt the glass.
As usual, she began nagging noisily.

Finally, it looks like she too was able to understand why I wanted to drown myself in alcohol.

"You don't have to look so sad like that. I get to die in pretty much an instant, so it's not that scary."
The corpse is probably burnt and in pieces, but since the death comes in an instant, it's in the so-so category.

The quality of the sub in terms of timing/clear font is very good. The only thing I don't know about is the translation quality obviously, but it seems to be pretty accurate just based on what I already know about this arc.

I'll definately also watch a more known sub when it comes out to compare the translation but I would recommend the sub for those who are impatient like me but of course you'll want to check out a more known sub when it comes out too just to make sure the translations are correct.

Hehe, most songs are creepy backwards, especially if they were creepy fowards, such is the beauty of backmasking. In regards to the whole backwards thing, it's that part at the end of the new OP right? When I listened to that it sounded like gibberish. For all we know they did that on purpose or something.
Most likely, yeah, they did it on purpose. Not that it's a bad thing though. I didn't find it creepy, but I was rather amazed.

I like the new OP better, one reason being there's more Rika, but I still like the first one too for having such a creepy tone. The new ED won't grow on me yet but unless it has some way to show a next episode preview (which they didn't) then it has no chance of beating the first. That piano score is so much win.

Well, it was more of filling in to the newbies, although one episode isn't enough to explain everything, but at least the key points were rather explained well.

And I never knew that File #34 was actually "named after its author". I thought it was just a number thought at random. :oh

Nothing flashy, but it was all good. Let's see what the next episode will bring.

Agreed. The new one is damn good but the first season OP is still better IMO when it comes to creepiness, and the overall song itself. The only time I felt a creepy vibe from the second OP was from 1:16 to the end. Still, it was a nice song.

I love this new OP though. I already felt that it seems to have been composed for Kai's mood as well. I don't know what the players of the game mean but I'm not about to spoil myself on the series great mysteries and story. A large portion of the fun of the first season was sitting down and discussing the stuff that happened with a friend and figuring things out for yourself with them. Well, as I said, what I want to see more in Kai is how the mystery gets resolved. So, now I think that yes, the gamers could be right in saying that the new OP is really appropriate.

That's so true. Well, almost everything in Higurashi IS a mystery, so people should really look beyond the violence and gore.

I think I played a demo of it. That's the one where you run around killing each other right? I only got to play as either Rena or Mion. Unfortunately my comp was lagging so the frames were totally botched and unsynchronized with the audio. The audio itself was pretty annoying though since I keep hearing Mion repeat the same line over and over. I wanted to use bat-powered Keiichi. :(

Natsumi is the protagonist in Onisarashi-hen (Demon Exposing Chapter) (http://www.freewebs.com/aortic/onisarashihen.htm). I'm not sure if she's the granddaughter of the village leader, but it's clear that she's part of the Three Great Families of Hinamizawa.

I tell you, it's just as bloody good as the other chapters.

How would you react if you went home one day from school and saw your house covered with talismans and you see a lot of animals in the bath tub being drowned by your grandmother? What would you do if your mother asks you to saw a dead person in pieces so that they can dispose of the body? And what happens to people who leave Hinamizawa?

Just some of the nasty stuff that the chapter has shown in three chapters. Imagine how bad it would get later on.
