The Animate.tv Channel website is streaming a 21-second promotional video for the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei video anime series. However, the streaming video does not contain any actual anime footage. Studio DEEN will adapt Ryukishi07's (Seventh Expansion's) Higurashi no Naku Koro ni murder mystery visual novel franchise for the third time with this collection of side stories. The five volumes, which are billed as the "fateful final chapters," will ship between this December and August of next year.

Funimation has taken over North American distribution of the first Higurashi television series from Geneon Entertainment, but no announcement has been made yet of future Higurashi anime licenses in the region. Yen Press licensed Square Enix's main manga version of When They Cry - Higurashi and has begun publishing it in its Yen Plus anthology magazine last month.

The official Japanese website for the video anime adaptation of naked ape's Switch "stylish crime action" manga has revamped itself with a 15-second streaming video introduction. Like Higurashi Rei's video, Switch's streaming video does not contain actual anime footage, but it does highlight the voice actors Jun Fukuyama (Kai Etou) and Takahiro Sakurai (Hal Kurabayashi). The two video volumes will be released in October and December. It's a patch TO the game, if I understand your phrasing correctly. You can torrent or buy the game right now if you wanted.

And before a mistake's made, the patch only works with episode 2 (which comes with ep. 1 anyways). I don't get it, but I'm happy they actually made some progress.

I REALLY hope whichever studio (probably DEEN again) is working on Umineko do a good job of adapting the anime. At least it seems like they are releasing the series early, which would hopefully mean the plot won't be rushed like it was with Higurashi season 1.

Looking at the promo, I really hope that's the OP they're going to use. I loved the game's OP song.

And I'm SO tempted to download the translated patch and play it, especially since the manga translations are coming out so slowly. :oh

What does the patch work with? If it's anything like umineko's it probably only works with ep. 1 rather than say, ep. 4, which would contain ep. 1-4.

Click the link. There is a version for the Demo as well as a version for Himatsubushi (eps 1-4). Instructions for the installation of either are provided elsewhere on their blog. Look around, it's all fairly straight forward.

As for why the Umineko patch only works with ep 2, I'm pretty sure that's because some significant changes had been made to the onscripter engine in-between the release of eps 1 and 2. It was just simpler to make one patch for the most recent game then go through the extra programming to make one for each.

Rozen Maiden has plenty of fans but the series is no longer eligible. Only anime characters in an anime/movie/OVA from July 1st, 2007 to June 30th, 2008 are accepted this year. Rozen Maiden: Ouvertüre was the last thing shown and it finished December 23rd, 2006.

Hi all. Just got through the whole series, but there are still some questions I have.

Such as, in Onikakushi-hen, my main two questions were the needle incident and the marker/syringe thing. I get that Keiichi was delusional and mistook a marker for a syringe, but what was the deal with the ripped out portions of his will left behind the clock? What piece of missing, and why did the marker (which he thought was a syringe) vanish?

I think 2008 has been very good so far :P although what it lacks is something epic that's worth giving a 10, so far there's been many titles that are very good but they aren't just at the top like how I'd say Higurashi is. It's been many many great titles and I really love this season, but there haven't been any masterpieces.

Well, take Fate/Stay Night for instance. It's a pretty good anime, at least according to other people... I dunno. I played the VN first and the anime just didn't hook me. It probably is a good anime, but I saw the VN first. And everything from storyline to graphics to even action scenes, didn't strike me as being better than its VN counterpart. Probably wouldn't feel that way if I didn't try the visual novel first.

Probably similar with Chaos;head fans too. I got many of my friends into Chaos;head, but none of them want to try the visual novel due to the shallow mentalities people tend to have about such things.

The whole VN to anime conversion wouldn't be so bad if they didn't take out really cool stuff. I mean, Fate/Stay Night's anime got rid of some of the boring socializing scenes, and that's cool. But then it adds and subtracts and ultimately the storyline just gets messed in a bunch of weird directions. I mean, Caster turning Sakura into Dark Sakura? It's not as interesting as the VN version.

I'll take for instance this anime in particular. Been a while so I don't remember if all these questions were answered or not. Why'd Rena attack the kids? What was Keiichi's little violent past all about? Why's Shion the one with the demon symbol on her back? Why does Hanyuu have horns? These are all pretty interesting, but the anime don't have it.

...why do I have the tendancy to write 5 paragraph essays...? Well, whatever. I just hope Umineko the anime explains that Jessica's got aesthma, Battler's had a ton of interesting crushes, and Beatrice is a weird cannibal chef. I don't want them to forego these details in favor of more blood.

So um... yeah, Chaos;head's anime's good, but goddamn there's a lot more that could be done than 12 episodes.

The humor in it's awesome, but when the storyline rolls around, it's been there done that. I like stuff like Hitman Reborn, Negima, and One Piece instead cause you get both. In the case of Negima especially, the comedy and storyline are blended in especially well, not separated for too long. Heard the animes weren't as good as the manga though.

Why Negima has yet to be a manga of the month, I have no clue. It does everything Bleach and Naruto and other shonen do, but more funny, perverted, stylish, adventurous, awesome, and interesting. /end Negima rant

I would like to see a Soul Eater slice of life. Death the Kid and Blackstar are both awesome characters. A GARcentric person like yourself will probably be drawn to Blackstar. Personally, Death the Kid's my favorite because his character isn't seen very much in manga these days.

Anyways, is somebody working on the manga or visual novels at all? I swear it seems that once one person gets their mind wrapped around it, they always forget or stop for some reason.

And in Zatch Bell, what's up with Gash's face? Yeah, it's a demon's face, that's clear to the audience, but no one seems to notice the huge lines on his face, kinda like Naruto's whiskers.
