Loved episode 23, it'll be sad to see this anime go. Kasai was full of GAR this episode, his reward to the guy was perfect. Satoshi's condition was expected, but I actually though he would be in a straight jacket or something...

I know it couldn't happen, but I almost wish that Takano would inject herself with the L5 drug and turn into some super tyrant oni thing straight out of resident evil that they have to kill in order to surpass fate.... and then after that Takano's death all the other worlds shatter into non-existance leaving Matsuribayashi-hen as the only true world.

Sorry I just checked out Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicals lately so my mind went into video game mode, but you gotta admit that it would be cool if that happened. Ah well it's going to be nice to see Takano get screwed over next episode.

Maybe her punishment will be locked up somewhere and every day people will come around and laugh at her research and all the way Nomura said.

I liked the Keiichi and Rena yay scene. Yeah it looked like the animation slowed down a little but I thought that was just the video quality.

lol and yeah this club activity was awesome. It just sucks that they couldn't have pulled something like this off in Minagoroshi-hen. Still I would have really liked to see Keiichi and Rena bashing some of those guys over the head with their signature weapons like they did in Minagoroshi-hen.

I kinda want a continuation to the story (Rei and some manga arcs would be nice but would seem random after Kai's final "true" end). I mean, it would be possible to expand on the Higurashi universe and see what life is like after june 1983. Though, the problem with this is coming up with an interesting story (no slice of life please). I wouldn't mind a romance drama with mystery elements, just as long as it was done really good. Also find a way to throw in some of the good ol' gore that Higurashi is known for.

Just because it is one story it doesn't mean that one season cant be better than the other. My favorite is the first season , the suspense was amazing, and the first season also had answers arcs, that had the same suspanse. The second season is really different from the other one, they could have done it better IMO , it's not the fact that they struggle to win against the fate but it's the fact that those kids can face a army without showing fear (a emotion that was widely shown in the first season). I don't hate the second season , and I will continue to watch it I just don't understand that "hate" that comes toward the fans of the first season :huh

That's a really bad reason. Just because they're not adults doesn't mean they have to be scared. Keiichi was having a duel to the death with Rena in Tsumihoroboshi. (Season one in case you don't know) He wasn't scared. In fact, he was having the time of his life. In Watanagashi and Meakashi (season one again) when Keiichi is about to be tortured to death by Shion (who he thinks is Mion), he isn't scared. He was more concerned with setting Shion free and having the demon leave Mion than saving his own life. When Rika told them the truth in Minagoroshi and Matsuribayashi, they weren't scared. They were excited. They love this kind of stuff. It gets their adrenaline pumping. To them stopping the Yamainu is just another club game.

2) In the second arc, everyone is alive and well? how come? Keeichi kills Rena and Mion, and they are both alive including Keeichi :|

3) In the second arc ending, they show shion surprise Keiichi in the hospital, and then she kills him. Now in the answer arc, they don't show this part. In the third arc, they show a corpse of nails in it, could it be Keiichi? but he is alive :|

4) Who is Oyashiro sama? I've heared she shows up on Kai, but I only see cute Hanyuu :|

5) In the second arc, they show Keeichi's arm, but you can still see the letter he left behind the clock, why?

Sounds like you haven't seen Kai, or at least not much of it. It answers almost all these questions but if you really want answers now...

1. Probably Irie to break the connection between syringe -> madness. Hinamizawa Syndrome is supposed to be classified information to avoid freaking out the villagers.

2. The second arc is Watanagashi. He doesn't kill Rena and Mion in that world.

3. The corpse was Rina. Whenever Rina is killed, Teppei returns to Hinamizawa. That's why he returned in Tatarigoroshi. Keiichi hallucinated in the hopsital from Hinamizawa Syndrome. He died of a heart failure.

4. Hanyuu is Oyashiro-sama. But the cruel curse giving Oyashiro-sama the villagers believe exists, doesn't.

5. I don't understand this question at all.

No it's a precursor to all the other arcs in the PS2 game. Basically Keiichi does absolutely nothing to trigger ANY of the other arcs, and decides to just live his life happily with no worries, but somehow everything goes wrong anyways.

but yeah I wouldn't mind seeing an arc where Keiichi wasn't there too. I wonder how that would go.

That's a really bad reason. Just because they're not adults doesn't mean they have to be scared. Keiichi was having a duel to the death with Rena in Tsumihoroboshi. (Season one in case you don't know) He wasn't scared. In fact, he was having the time of his life. In Watanagashi and Meakashi (season one again) when Keiichi is about to be tortured to death by Shion (who he thinks is Mion), he isn't scared. He was more concerned with setting Shion free and having the demon leave Mion than saving his own life. When Rika told them the truth in Minagoroshi and Matsuribayashi, they weren't scared. They were excited. They love this kind of stuff. It gets their adrenaline pumping. To them stopping the Yamainu is just another club game.

That's a good explanation but the biggest problem is that people have the mindset that Yamainu are super soldiers. They can't accept them losing so easily to a bunch of kids. But they don't understand that the element of surprise is their greatest strength. In the previous arcs everything was done discreetly. But now since Rika has foreknowledge, they lost their biggest advantage.

Not even a well trained person could navigate a minefield if they had no way of knowing where the mines are.

I wasn't able to resist, so I watched the raw. It was so... awesome. A lot of GAR moments happened and when the ED started playing, I started to feel a little emotional. (I could have cried if it was a better song, like why, or why not). It dawned to me - the Higurashi saga is over. :cry

Season 3 will most likely be a sidestory with the "lost" arcs (Rei, manga, and PS2). I doubt it will continue from the present.

It'd be cool if the first episode starts out inside Rika's mind as she talks to the viewer about the lost chapters and takes us back to those times.

You need someone to convert the mkv file into avi. Unfortunately, I can't.

You should be fine downloading the mkv if it's only the RAW you want. If it was encoded in h264 then you'd definitely need ffdshow, but I'm fairly sure it'll be encoded in XviD/DivX if you're only after the raw.

Then again those raws are the ones I find. Raw providers might change them to h264, but I'm not sure.

meh I just got CCCP and MKVs work fine on my computer. I didn't have to play around with it or anything either. So unless you haven't got the right codecs you shouldn't be having any problems playing a mkv.

Sometimes this isn't the codecs, but your vid can lag. I have had some problems recently with the new releases. It's pretty rare and I usually download .avi, but it can happen.

And maybe, Shorty wants to make gifs or need avi format for some applications.

I think a lot of people make that mistake because this thread is called "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai" and the first post lists the season two episodes first. It says "season two" in the post but it's easy to miss that. If the thread was called "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" and the first post listed season one episodes first then season two, I think less people would make that mistake.
