Of course you do, you're involved in the translation team and it looks like you can understand the moonrunes. ^^

Looks like another mystery with lot's of murders. :amuse
As much as I like Higurashi, I wouldn't have started it if I knew it would be so creepy. I think I'll pass on Umineko, for now.
yeah it's basically another mystery with more mysterious murders but it looks really interesting too because it's nothing like Higurashi. It's a whole different story and theme all together.

Glad so many people liked the lyrics. If you are that eager to know what happens in Umineko, just import the game. It's pretty cheap, and the english patch for it will be released next month.
are there english patches for the higurashi games?

So about the Umineko manga that is starting this December. Do you think anyone will translate it? I heard even the Higurashi manga haven't been fully translated yet?
Well, let's just hope there will be some kind-hearted scanlators.
As some said, we won't be probably creeped out with this one as we go straight on finding out who the culprit is. Although whatever theories we could come up at the end of the first chapter will probably be disproved later on. That's just how Ryukishi07-san fucks our mind. :nod

Another anime based off a game? :P Oh well, I don't really think the game would actually be able to maintain the feel that the anime does.

I said this before, but Umineko's premise is not really original and interesting, but since I've been hooked in Ryukishi07's way of writing mysteries, I want to know what happens in the island of Rokkenjima.

It's all about the execution and presentation. Almost every form of media, fiction, anime, what-have-you, isn't very original. But people like certain ones over others because one is better presented than the other.
I mean, Groundhog Day. That movie was what some fans used to describe the set up of Higurashi, but fans don't go saying, "it's a complete ripoff of the movie, etc".

Well, we have a Japanese family with some members having Western names. I do admit that some of the names either sound too simple or sound too bad. Simple, like the names Maria, George and Jessica. Bad, like the name Battler. :P
And based on some stuff I read, Maria has her own cutesy catchphrase. Which I think is just a rehash of Hanyuu's.

But Miyo sure didn't seem like she'd let that chance go to waste. It'd make perfect sense too, and since his body wasn't found or anything he was probably thrown into the marsh. Let's face it, he was L5 as soon as he got down from that car. Chances are they wouldn't lock him in a padded room if he's beyond saving.

It's strange that they made it look like he disappeared. Why not alert everyone that he's sick and being treated? Unless he isn't.. But I don't see Irie letting Takano have her way with him. Also there's something the anime didn't explain. Takano has H170. It sends someone with the parasite straight to L5. It's what Takano used on Tomitake in episode 11. She can use that to easily create L5 test subjects.

But wasn't it before they had even created a full antidote for it? Not full, but you know what I mean. Irie said it himself, he didn't go L5 until he was able to buy the teddy bear. He hadn't even had a run-in with Takano since he committed the murder if I'm correct. There is no way Takano would have been able to induce him with H170 and him not go L5 sooner then meeting Irie.

Also there's something the anime didn't explain. Takano has H170. It sends someone with the parasite straight to L5. It's what Takano used on Tomitake in episode 11. well they'd have to make sure that they didn't make it obvious that it was hinamizawa syndrome making Satoshi sick as that would cause a panic.
Besides Irie is the one doing the operation. No way would he stain his hands in satoshi's blood. Plus we haven't seen any proof that Irie's even done anything of the sort in regards to Satoshi. That's why I think they put him into a padded room with a straight jacket on to keep him from scratching his throat out.
Maybe Satoshi would get better over time. After all the isolation would cure him of seeing his aunt everywhere.

I can see Miyo dying but not at the hands of our protagonists, because it would kind destroy the spirit of the series which was to change fate and avoid those gruesome murders. If Miyo dies it's going to be at her own hands or by someone unrelated to the village in any way (e.g. that faction that's using her as a pawn)

Okay, I got here by the link from youtube... and I see you are talking about umineko here too, great.
Wait, RIKA'S IN IT!?
No, Rika is NOT THERE.
Even Frederica (Berknestel) so far is not there. She is only part of secret omake chapter, which should be only there for fun (or so far it looks like that). Also I doubt that the witch will the one responsible for the murders. If that will be true, then umineko will be clearly not a good game... Since I already read it, I have few tips who could be it
My tip is Rudolf.
My friend also have quite good (with few pieces of evidence) tip Rosa.
Though now its impossible to get the right answer... we will have to wait.
Also new umineko will be released at 31th December, which I hope to be the day of release for our English patch.
Anyway, small update on www.rokkenjima.com, if you are interested.
Kira: According to game she wont die, noone will die this arc.

I also don't think that Takano is going to die.
I think her getting arrested would fit better with the current feel of the final arc than if she commited suicide or was assassinated by Gin-sama.
Although she deserves a fate worse than death for calling Hanyuu a monster...
Indeed Miyo deserves a fate worse than death. Like being slowly tortured and kept alive just for more torture for the rest of her miserable life.
Hmm but still I wonder if Rika's win this arc will erase all the other bad worlds into non-existance.
Knowing that all the other worlds still exist and that Miyo won them all just seems saddening. I would hope that once Rika breaks the chain of fate that those worlds will no longer exist.

If she did, I think Miyo would have killed Rika before she was able to do anything. That or caught her and then waited for the right time to kill her. Not only that, but the preview showed that she was on her knees defeated. It seems like they were able to pull off Rika's "death."

Rika makes it sound like she moves onto a completely different world when she describes it, but even if Rika can't travel to five years in the past, her telling Akasaka to return to Tokyo and save his wife seems to remain suggesting that it's the same world being repeated.

No I don't think so.
There are two things that making it to be a new world each time.
1) anime filler ep, rena is actually living after the end of sixth arc
2) if it was time returning, the source for different endings could only be rika herself (since she is only returning).

Personally, I don't like the idea of different worlds.
Why should we limit our thoughts to one timeline. Rika just go back into the past, but the future she left still continue progressing and existing.
I guess it'd be a little bit complicated, but Rika's reset influences somehow the new Hinamizawa she's in.
Well, it's clearly said they are different worlds, and Rika brings some part of memories previously detained by our main cast of heroes from the previous world into the new world.

I'd say the timeline splits every time Hanyuu reverses time. If someone went back in time and changed the past, you wouldn't cease to exist. How far it splits depends on how far back Rika goes. Everything before that split remains the same.

Interesting but it doesn't explain how Akasaka could save his wife, if his actions were already determined. But this is mostly the idea I was trying to develop, except Rika's reset influence isn't limited to the point she reincarnates but for all the past she lived in.

That brings up a good point. The timeline is only affected by the individuals own actions...Or so I guess. Because in one world he loses his wife, but in another he has a wife.

Things get really complicated when you involve multiple universes or timelines. There's no real way to explain it because we don't know the science behind it. It's probably Higurashi's biggest fault because it's not really explained.
Questions like these are what I'd like to ask Ryukishi07 just to have an official canon answer. He should write a book, explaining everything about the Higurashi universe. It could be full of information that wasn't told in the game because the characters weren't sure themselves. Hanyuu restores Rika but I doubt she knows how it works so she couldn't explain it.

The age of the characters finally revealed along with their height, weight and bloodtype. Fully explain their past. Learn the truth behind Rena attacking the school kids. Fully explain exactly why __ happened in each chapter. Why did Yamainu knock out Keiichi in Onikakushi? Was it really Mion or Shion that was at __? Detailed timeline that tells the exact year everything happened. When did Hanyuu die? When did Tanashi's parents die? What year did the dam war start? Detailed explanation of Hinamizawa Syndrome, showing what symptoms each stage possess. What is the earliest stage for hearing Hanyuu's footsteps? How many worlds did Rika live and what all did she do to try and avert her death? How did Hinamizawa Syndrome come to exist and why is connected to the Furude's?

As for Rika's parents. Takano definitely killed them. The anime made that pretty obvious but the game made it even more so.

I finished tweaking my seconds game for the hell of it.
I know it can't be played here because this forum doesn't show the seconds but I'd like you to see it anyway.
You play as Keiichi and you start with 2000 HP. Your opponent is Takano and she starts with 20000 HP. Both HPs cannot go above their starting amount. Your L starts at 1 and cannot go below 1 or above 5. To win you have to reduce Takano's HP to 0 before she reduces yours to 0.
00: Hanyuu freezes time. If any of the next 8 turns are Takano attacks, ignore them
01: You strike Takano. Takano loses 400 HP
02: Takano hits you with a bullet. You lose 500 HP
03: You are overcome with stress. Your L goes up a stage. If you are already at L5 you claw violently at your throat. You lose 500 HP
04: Rika injects you with C120. If your L was above 3 it returns to 3. If Rika is captured then nothing happens this turn.
05: Takano fires a bullet, you manage to avoid it but injure yourself in the process. You lose 200 HP
06: Satoko sets up a trap. If a trap was already set Takano loses 1000 HP and the trap is removed. If Satoko is captured then she cannot set the trap but the trap will still go off if placed.
07: You enter KOOL mode. Your next attack is tripled in strength
08: A Yamainu appears to assist Takano. Yamainu has 2000 HP. All attacks targetting Takano now hit him until he's killed. If a Yamainu is already in play, Yamainu attacks. You lose 200 HP
09: You go into a frenzy, striking Takano with your bat multiple times. Takano loses 800 HP
10: Irie treats your wounds. You recover 300 HP
11: Mion drop kicks Takano. Takano loses 600 HP
12: Takano fires a bullet, you manage to avoid it but injure yourself in the process. You lose 200 HP
13: Takano injects you with H170. Your L goes to 5
14: Akasaka gives Takano a hard jab. Takano loses 3000 HP
15: You strike Takano. Takano loses 400 HP
16: Takano fires a bullet, you manage to avoid it but injure yourself in the process. You lose 200 HP
17: You and Shion team up to attack Takano. Takano loses 1700 HP
18: A Yamainu appears to assist Takano. Yamainu has 2000 HP. All attacks targetting Takano now hit him until he's killed. If a Yamainu is already in play, Yamainu attacks. You lose 200 HP

21: Takano hits you with a bullet. You lose 500 HP
22: Shion tazers Takano. Takano loses 900 HP
23: You go into a frenzy, striking Takano with your bat multiple times. Takano loses 800 HP
24: Mion drop kicks Takano. Takano loses 600 HP
25: You strike Takano. Takano loses 400 HP
26: You charge Takano but she knocks you down to the ground. You lose 100 HP
27: The entire gang attacks Takano. Takano loses 2000 HP
28: You manage to calm down. Your L goes down a stage and you recover 100 HP
29: Rena slams the bluntside of her cleaver into Takano's gut. Takano loses 700 HP
30: You charge Takano but she knocks you down to the ground. You lose 100 HP
31: A Yamainu appears to assist Takano. Yamainu has 2000 HP. All attacks targetting Takano now hit him until he's killed. If a Yamainu is already in play, Yamainu attacks. You lose 200 HP

46: You put all your strength into one blow. Takano loses 1200 HP
47: You charge Takano but she knocks you down to the ground. You lose 100 HP
48: Rena slams the bluntside of her cleaver into Takano's gut. Takano loses 700 HP

Yeah, Daybreak is a third person shooter.
It's Eternal Fighter Zero, Immaterial and Missing Power, and Scarlet Rhapsody that are true fighting games like Guilty Gear.
Do you still remember what your idea was? It sounds like a fun thing to think about. :amuse

lol you think so? I'd actually like to see it in action, and of course I would think it should use the same engine as the Naruto Ultimate Ninja games. Where it would look 2D but you could use the fore and background. It'd be awesome.

Frankly speaking, Rika doesn't need them. In fact, it's probably better that way.
