I've been following Philanthropy for most of Kai, I believe. So I wouldn't really know.

If you ask me, yes, Hauuu~ is definitely better quality, considering that the ones subbing it have most likely played the original games and might have used the in-game dialogues for their subs. I'm not sure though, but I think some residents of this thread have the same sentiments for the said sub group.

And BTW, I, for one, will appreciate it if you join in the discussion, TenshiOni. As much as some residents have been spoiled in advance by reading stuff over at AnimeSuki and the Wikipedia article or have played the games (that includes me), we have been able to control ourselves from dishing out too much info to non-spoiled people, so you don't have to worry about getting spoiled. Hopefully.

I finaly saw the episode. It was amazing.

So is everyone going to remember the events of this Hinamizawa? Rika, Satoko, Keiichi, Rena, Mion, Shion, and Hanyuu? If so, that'll be awsome! I also have the feeling that Hanyuu might get a human body! I hope thats not just wishful thinking on my part.

But before that, the next arc we are getting looks like a Takano flashback. It shall be interesting aswell.

What made it worse is that she looked like she quite enjoyed seeing Satoko squirm with trying to answer the question. While I'm aware of her goal, I'm still a bit miffed about her trying to be a god by sacrificing so many innocent lives in the process. At least Kira was out to get criminals and those who stood in his way of achieving his goals. Takano had no discretion in taking all those lives.

Keep watching and it will eventually answer everything. Part of Higurashi's brilliance is seeing how it ties everything together.

What got my interested in Higurashi was the Casey and Friends video on YouTube. I liked the characters designs and the violent scenes that were covered up with purposely bad edits. I fell in love with it after the first 4 episodes. I got into it right after episode 21 aired. If it wasn't for that video I probably would have never checked it out.

I'm also :lmao to the Rena-Kagami engagement. I've read the flame wars and yes, people are really taking this so damn seriously. As for me, I really do hope that Rena wins, but I've nothing against Kagami's fans.

There's more to it other than gore. The plot to it is amazing. It'll be confusing at first though, but when you go along and watch it to the ending of the first season, it'll make sense and you'll realize this isn't just about gore. It's the plot, characters, and everything else. :P

first season did, but the second season has been pretty much gore free!
Second season has just revealed why things happened in the first season.

Indeed. Even the first season had very little gore. It doesn't rely on violence for shock value to be entertaining. Higurashi is so great because of the story and characters. The violence may draw you in but the story will keep you hooked.

I think it's because there's very horror animes. Hearing that Higurashi has horror makes it stand out. After the crazy first season the show changes direction completely. To those that fell in love with just the horror side, there is no second season. I enjoy both aspects of the show but I think it would be repetitive if the show continued focusing on what season one did. The whole "one of the club members goes crazy and kills people" formula was getting a bit stale.

I just think most people get attracted by the gore first because it's such a strong factor. I personally was after seeing the uncensored pics but I'm not going into this series just for gore or violence. I've been meaning to check this one out anyway since I'm a pretty big fan of horror.
