I never thought that the facts surrounding the Hinamizawa Syndrome is that stretched out, that it had involved quite a number of people. Even though I already thought that the incidents of madness were caused by a disease, at least after Rika's revelation, everything about it is really starting to make sense.

I wonder where Rika got those information? From her "resets", perhaps?

And we have another man down after Tomitake. Considering that I'm already looking forward to seeing a lot of dead people at the end of the chapter, but I didn't realize Oishi would be dead at the end of this episode. Rika sure is in so much deep shit.

Seriously, as much as I really don't like Oishi, I felt bad when he died...

It's been announced the AT-X will show the last episode of School Days tomorrow.

News from Moonphase Diary states, the final episode of “School Days” will be shown in its entirety tomorrow evening. However the airtime is different than its original schedule; (21:30-22:00). The announcement is also being shown on both AT-X’s website and on the official site for the show.

They have balls. I don't think we ever have to worry about Higurashi being completely pulled. Even if the other stations drop it, we'll still have AT-X.

I'm just worried that it will take a long time to get a Higurashi season one boxset now. I normally don't buy the North American releases untill they release a complete boxset. (I don't like over-priced DVDs with only 3 episodes).

Normaly we get a single 3 episode DVD that costs over $20. Complete boxsets with 26 episode are normaly around $50-$60. Thats a great deal. Plus boxsets are always neat to have for fans and collectors.

Theres one thing that I don't really get about the disease if Rika is the one thats keeping them all sane how did Keichi and Rena stay alive after she was killed those one times or w.e? And really how is she the one keeping them alive because shes like a queen bee or w.e and gives off something thats just weird lol.

I don't think I can give you a better explanation than she did. She's the Queen Carrier and gives off a pheromone that prevents Hinamizawa Syndrome from developing. But she doesn't keep them alive, she keeps them sane. When someone infected is far away from her they become vulnerable to Hinamizawa Syndrome.

As for why people don't go insane after she dies, that is strange. If you read the TIP thread at AnimeSuki, you'd see the credit roll (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=656522&postcount=113) which took place when you finished Meakashi; Many characters that were residents of Hinamizawa are still alive by 2004. Apparently there was no gas disaster in that world and since Meakashi is almost identical to Watanagashi, we can assume it's the same for that world too.

Minagoroshi has one episode left and will be the best of the arc, so I'll exclude it.

Meakashi for me. I loved seeing Shion go crazy and it was the first arc that made you feel like you were getting solid answers. I really want to see it redone with Kai's budget and pace.

It's Onikakushi-hen for me. Nothing, and I do mean nothing, prepared me for the initial shock that is this arc. What I initially thought was a series that had the quirks of a harem anime, eventually became scary, bloody and disturbing along the way. With that, Onikakushi-hen has paved way for me to check out the other arcs, getting so much involved in the mystery.

Next would be Meakashi-hen. Shion was just pure fuck in this arc. Not to mention that it answers the events of Watanagashi-hen, which initially, had confused me.

Meakashi-hen was bloody great. The whole nail removal process was probably the most disturbing thing I've ever seen, next to Shion's treatment towards Satoko and then the oh so dreadful fate of Rika. Oh, and I appreciated Yukino Satsuki even more for her voice talent. That is a freakin' hallmark maniac laugh. Next would be Yakusamashi-hen and Onikakushi-hen.

According to the people who went to the special screening of the final episode that Overflow held, the AT-X broadcast was edited heavily. In the uncut version, not only was the blood was red, but there were also no flashbacks during the Makoto stabbing scene (a lot more of where she stabbed him were there), they actually showed Makoto’s head in the bag, and there were apparently some more sounds added to the baby-confirmation scene.

I was hoping Rika would tell them everything. But in the end she didn't want to burden them with their past sins. I think it might have given them a bit more insight but I guess that's just my take.

After seeing School Days 12, I don't think anything in the rest of the series is as bad as that. Anime: Keiichi is suddenly hit by Takano's bullet. Happiness turns to despair in an instant.


Game: Takano immediately captures everyone after Keiichi's death and kills them by one-by-one while forcing the others to watch.

Anime: Takano lets them flee after Keiichi's death. Mion and Rena try to stall her. Takano then captures the rest and kills them.


I prefer the first change. I'm not a fan of time stop because it feels like a copout. Oh, Hanyuu has the power to stop time.. Why did she wait till now to use it? As for the second, I'm not sure which I prefer.

Just go get CCCP and then use WMP that's what I do. I mean I've never had trouble with mkv files when playing them in windows media player.

No need to have all that other crap since CCCP is basically everything.

Game: Hanyuu stops time before Keiichi is hit by Takano's bullet. He gives a motivating speech before time is resumed and the bullet kills him.

Anime: Keiichi is suddenly hit by Takano's bullet. Happiness turns to despair in an instant.


Game: Takano immediately captures everyone after Keiichi's death and kills them by one-by-one while forcing the others to watch.

Anime: Takano lets them flee after Keiichi's death. Mion and Rena try to stall her. Takano then captures the rest and kills them.

Wow. This episode is awesome beyond words, as expected. Surprising that there wasn't much gore in this episode like I thought it would have. Well, with Rena doing a Kenshin-style attack with her cleaver and Keiichi hitting foes with his bat to knock them out just proves that. Take that, you censorship fools! :yell

Rika has been hacked for a myriad of times over and over, but with respect to this episode, this was the first time she was watanagashi'd awake. Usually, she is put to sleep then the "operation" begins. Not to mention that it was Takano herself who did it. Unless I only presume that the MIG are the ones who did it in past worlds.

And yeah, I guess she got used to the pain.

I wonder if the DVD version will be different. With everything going on, it's easy to be paranoid about edits. There could be a scene where you see Rika's intestines being ripped out for all we know. In the game Rika forces herself to stay conscious while Takano watanagashies her, to burn the memory into her mind. I'm still baffled to why Saitama decided to suspend broadcast after showing the most violent episode in the season.

Hanyuu is finally motivated to give a falcon punch to Takano. Rika always lost her final memory but she finally won against fate this time. It'll be interesting to see how everybody will outsmart Takano.
Rena was awesome in this episode, I was glad when she felt the MIGs in the forest and when she lectured Takano. I missed USODA but Psycho Good Rena is better.:kloff

Takano's keen sense regarding Rika is more than enough for me to believe that she had an inkling that their group dynamic is what enabling them to have been successful up to that point.
