The Hollows look very scary. Indeed the outlook on hell. Very good.
... but I love the second one even more!!! Yay for Rukia and Deiroy! You did a great work on both, especially Deiroy! Like the texture of his hair, skin and they eye in the lower panel! Great job! :thumbs

Interesting colorings...I always imagined D-roy to have gray skin and white hair for some reason.

Tnx :)
To tell you the truth, I finished Rukia in like 20 minutes, and I see I even forgot to shade her hand ( oh noes :( ) .
I'm very curious as to what colors Deeroy has, and when we know you can bet on me changing this again, cause I love this Arrancar.

The thing shocked me was... the colour of the sky in the first one...
Damn; the I've never imagined it like that, nor I've ever seen it like that in any colouring. As the Menos appears, endless skies turn to a bloody crimson colour... Damn, that really scared me.
(Waits until the freezing panic leaves)
For the second one; your tones are really great (Deiroy's hair is just a friggin good art), but you should do the shadowing effect with tones too, instead of the original illustration style shadowings, which is in the Deiroy's neck. Some blur would be useful, too.

Do you know what the original looked like ? I cleaned the whole MTF top panel !
And as long as the original shading isn't too disturbing and doesn't cover a large area, I like to keep it, I find it better to keep Kubo's lines, and stick as much as possible to the original.
Oh and I stopped using the blur function in my second coloring, I don't believe it looks cool, and I only used it in the beginning because I lacked the skills to do the image otherwise.
Maybe it's my silly idea, but I find blur a usefull tool for beginning colorers, but then as you learn more, you learn to use smudge, opacity, dodge and burn, and I rely on those the most, and still learning of course :)
Glad you liked the background for the menos, I always invisioned it like that :)

Yes I changed my name :)
I know nobody likes poor Deeroy, and in all the fanwork I saw of him, he had these colors. Someone has to give them the attention they deserve :(

Good job with the colorings, especially with RukiDeldoi piece, lovely shades and good shading.
Just get loose of that mild grungeness, and perhaps try to increase the levels between the shades - ie, make em appear more drastic and realistic, and you'll level up to extremely excellent manga colorist.
(tricks with the blending modes are those what i'm referring to, the same things that "we" use with the sigs/avas/bigger pieces ... like .. lightening with dark blue @ shadowy scenes and dark brushing with blending mode as "soft light" to create dynamic shadows, etc ... )
Very good job ^^

What do you mean by grungeness ? ( I'm not english soo ... )
I have absolutely no clue about using blending modes :P , guess that's something I need to read some tuts about still.
I agree with you though, as I finished the page, I wasn't truly satisfied. And I'm still changing my methods of shading ( now I'm fond of burn and dodge :P ). My ultimate goal would be to be able to do what Ogar from Bleachforums does ... He rules !

the rukia one is very very impressive, i love how u used deep colors everywhere instead of light ones
as for the ripping menos grande one, i wish u had some contrast on the sky, so that most of it was blue and then the red is flowing in as the grande open the sky
