I mean, I do know how to make some nice sigs with textures, but when it comes to brushing .. I simply don't know the technique :\

Hmmm... Lets see...

First off, try to get away from Downloaded brushes as soon as possible, the only hinder ones own ability. Insted, experiment with defult brushes or try making your own. It really helps in developing your own style and improves skill alot faster then anything else Ive tried.
Try getting a main light source for your tag that you model most of the other stuff around. I usually get mine from how the stock im using is lighted.
I personally am not too good at brushing myself, try smudging a little bit, its a really great way to make some neat effects.
Make sure your tag as some kind of flow and direction. It just looks kinda dumb/unprofessional if theres just random shit going every which way y'know

Also another way to get like those cool lines endlessrain does in her tags well I dont know if she does it this way but it's fast and easy this way

1) Select Your Pentool
2) Make a crazy Path with your pentool
3) Right Click
4) Stroke Path
5) Make sure your selection is on "brush"
6) Check the box "apply pressure"
7) click "ok"

should have a sweet line, and if not just keep trying it until you get a sexy line :)

i usually work with the textures on top of the stock and work with the blending and opacity but sometimes that doesn't work, i suggest you just experiment with it and see what you like x]

orry didn't explain it

all I do is use that 36 rough brush in the default and then just smudge it all wavy like then get a picture of the sky or space and set it to lighten so it wont be messy and it gives the effect better, then do some circles with the 5 circle brush over it, then give it some color balances or whatnot and it works out fine :)
