Guys, I've been thinking.
This is the language department. Along with languages falls an entire way of life. From everything from different dialects to food to the telephone to traffic laws to family life to everything. So, I've decided that we should have a Language of the Month. (LotM for short.) We all get to vote and decide on what language to choose, and the language that wins, I'll make a topic for. And then that month we'll do cool nerdy stuff like share recipies, culture tidbits, language tidbits, discuss literature from that country and all the stuff along those lines. Sound like a good idea? Let's give it a shot. :amuse *Coughs* If a mody person disapproves, go ahead and trash. <.<
Well, I have no idea what options to put in the poll this month, so I'll just do what comes to mind. (Some things that I know people speak around here.)

日本語ですか?
Japanese too! I'm part japanese, and I also speak the language, if it still lets you adjust the poll, you should add it.
Japanese language = 日本語 (Nihongo)

We could always have Japanese another month. I didn't add Japanese on purpose this month, because I knew it would win by a landslide, and with so many Japanese lovers around, I'd like to think of some other cool things to do before we do that. So let's experiment before we do Japanese, so we make Japanese good. :)

A very good idea.
I'd say Swedish. Scandinavian culture (to non-Europeans, at least), would probably be a bit more obscure than the other choices. Which makes it interesting, to me, at least, as a first choice. :nod

I love this idea! Hmm... Could you add French to that list as well? Or maybe the next one?

I've gone for swedish, cos although i'm (trying to) learning norwegian, it doesn't appear to be popular enough for it's own thread... :|

You need to have Chinese and Japanese up there.....:(
But if it's not there, then I can always learn from other languages

Nice idea. I'd like Chinese (specifically Mandarin) as a future contestant...because I wanna learn some. Most spoken language in the world - how can it not be up there? +__+
