Anways one of my favorite pairings has to be Renji and Chihiro (EF).

Rin and Lisianthus, Nerine, Kaede, Asa, Primula ( Shuffle! ) (Polygamy is legal in the land of the gods. Seriously he should have gone with that. Though I do like the individual pairings of each characters with Rin.)

Yūma and Jun (Happiness!) (Forget Haruhi, they should have done it. I would love to make a sig and avi with this pairing but its so hard to find something good. :cry )

Louise and Saito (Zero no Tsukaima) (I like it even more in the light novel. :amuse)

Noboru and Anko ( GTO ) (Defenitaly was never expecting it, but I liked the change. You go Noboru. )

Saji and Louise ( MS Gundam 00) (Cannot forget about this pairing, I definatly like both of the characters and they go togther quite nicely, shame at the end though. :( )

Tatsuya x Minami (Touch) - Though their romance is long-winded, it was solid and only grew through tragedy. Minami didn't settle, she always had more affection for Tatsuya than Kazuya


Athrun x Cagalli (Gundam Seed...I'll pretend Destiny never existed) - Though a bit rushed, I've always had a soft-spot for Asucaga. Episode 24, "War For Two" is an episode that I could watch over and over again because of the interaction between these two. Both on opposite sides of the war, both having strong prejudices about the other side, experience an understanding. As the series progresses she becomes a foil for his character, questioning the righteousness of his actions and underlining the hypocrisy. Eventually, she saves him by showing him that purposely dying on the battlefield would be a cowardly action.


Kira x Fllay (Gundam Seed) She seduced him to use him as a tool, but arguably that was the only way she could fight, using her sexuality. He was always infatuated by her, needing comfort while facing the horrors of war. Both used each other. It wasn't the healthiest relationship, considering she wanted him to die because his kind had killed her father, but she fell in love with him. After being separated, she changed and grew as a character to the point where she hated no one except the war itself. The tragedy of the pairing is not the unhealthy way it started, but the fact that just as both parties had come to an understanding fate intervenes to separate them.


Van x Hitomi (Escaflowne) - Not much to say, they're really self-explanatory.

Hikaru x Misa (Macross) - Substance matters more than glitter. Hikaru and Minmei never connected on a level that these two did when stranded on Earth. She wasn't as glamorous but they shared the same struggles.

Hibiki x Ishtar (Macross II) - He steals her away, brings her to Earth, and introduces her to protoculture, especially through the form of music. The OVA's spend more time on their relationship to the point where it should have been requited, but -_-' he chooses random character A.

Kusanagi x Momiji (Blue Seed) - It was a very cute relationship. They start out enemies, he literally tries to kill her, then ends up being bound to her. He is her protector for most of the series while she slowly falls in love with him. He, on the other hand, has deep affection for her older sister, but they work through that. I've always thought Blue Seed resembled a shoujo more than anything, even though it wasn't

Fakir x Ahiru (Princess Tutu) - Their personalities were opposites, but in their struggle to save Mythos, they really brought out the best in each other. And their ending shows that just because you deserve it more, worked for it more, fought for it more, you don't always get a perfect ending. A very bittersweet relationship, but quite fitting for the fractured fairy tale.

Kei x Tae (Gantz) In the midst of a violent, often bordering on a sexually crude seinen, I was pleasantly surprised to find such a sweet relationship. Kei is almost unlikable at the beginning, but Tae completely changes his character. The lengths he went for her, to protect her, was really touching. He even cries for her.


Yuuhi x Aya (Ayashi No Ceres) Tooya was boring and had no personality. Yuuhi loved her so much, and they had more chemistry.

Zero x Yuki (Vampire Knight) - I've always found Kaname creepy and a bit of a manipulative, cold bastard. Zero cares for Yuki so much, and Yuki equally is protective of Zero. Her "love" for Kaname seems based on more gratitude rather than anything really solid. The author really has given ZeroxYuki a lot of sympathetic development.

Ichigo x Rukia (Bleach) - Great chemistry. They work well together, bringing out the best in each other, knowing how far to push each other. She gives him the power to protect, guides him, protect him. He reads her perfectly, knowing she wasn't ungrateful for his efforts, just protective. She makes the rain go away for him. He gives her relationships with her childhood friend and older brother. He allows her to let go of her own guilt. He inspires her. She inspires him. Their zanpaktous even fit together with his being all black and hers all white.

Renji x Rukia (Bleach). Everything in his life has been done for her. He agreed with her to go the academy. He let her go so that she would have a better life, though a mistake, he had the best intentions for her. He tried to work his way up the seatings to become Vice Captain, just so he could be worthy of her. He redeems himself by going against his own Captain for her, and is willing to rather die than let go of her.

And Yes, Suzaku/Shirley would have been the cutest pairing ever in Code Geass, but CG is what it is. :sag
