i was just wondering if these characters were japanese or chinese and what meaning they have, perhaps they spell a name? i found it as a bookmark in a book.

the second character makes me think it's a chinese reading

btw, chinese characters are used in japanse, but this is definately a chinese phrase

I'm not sure if its chinese/or kanji...both? But two of those symbols i recognize look VERY much like the kanji below...You can see for yourself. the ?----? is the symbol in the middle that I don't know and couldn't find.
