This is an Fc for the excellent series created by Yoshihiro Togashi and published in weekly Shonen Jump.I know that there are a good few Hunter x Hunter fans lurking in these forums, so come and sign up here.
(I shall get a brief series synopsis posted here eventually)

Im sure there was a previous fc which was basically inactive and I cant seem to find it anymore so I thought I would start a new one.

No, I've always been The Elephant King here on NF. I am commonly referred to as either T.E.K. or TEK or EK. At NC, I go by the username T.E.K. and at N-O forums, I go by TEK.

Sweet, another Feitan fan. I also like Nobunaga and Machi, but Feitan is my favorite. The leader is savage but he's not one of my favorites.

Btw, do you have any Feitan fanarts. I want to make a theme about him but I'm having a difficult time finding good pics/fanarts of him.

I did have some on my external HD but thats not here at the moment im not too great at finding fanart in general.

Feitan is cool I like his outfit and the whole torture thing he has going on, I like the boss' personality his way of thinking makes him a very interesting character he seems so well educated for a thug.

Well it seems that though initially Togashi was gonna take a break due to illness which would postpone HxH until april now, however, the series is on hiatus for an undisclosed amount of time.. Which sucks so much! I can only hope this is an untrue rumour or that Togashi is gonna make a super recovery swiftly and provide us with a ton of well drawn chapters but somehow... I doubt it.

Welcome zizou, Killua is a really good character one of my favourites in fact when I first watched Hunter x Hunter he was my favourite. I really enjoy the relationship he has with Gon and the way they contrast each other and bounce of each other!

My fave arc is definitely the Spiders/York shin saga the pace, the story and the darkness or general mood of it really suits HxH. Also I think its just generally a great piece of storytelling!

As for favourite character in each arc (which is what im assuming you did there zizou) thats actually really hard to narrow down! I will think about it and then posts when I have made a decision.

Thank you for the information about the manga but since zizou has posted a link to where the chapters are I think i will save you the trouble. To add to what others have already been talking about in this FC. My favourite arc is the yorkshin/spiders arc and my favouite major character is Hisoka with killua as a distant second. My favourites of the spiders are Shalnark and Kuroro as it stands at the end of the anime. But i will start to the read the manga as soon as i have this Hamlet homework done with.

It was actually the first anime series i finnished watching all the episodes! Including the 3 OVA's!

I do agree with you gunners that Greed Island and the ant arcs are weaker from a stroytelling point of view. But I think they are an effective way for Gon and Killua to become stronger and I feel thats there main purpose.

I agree completely. The only thing that really made greed island good for me was the little bit with Hisoka and the fact that I like gensuru. He is a cool villain, the whole bomb idea reminds me of Kimbly from FMA mostly and and kinda Mr.5 from one piece.

The NGL bug arc is weird >.>, at first i was really confused what the heckle was happening. The bugs that could consume ppl and take over their minds, body and powers was a bit whacked >.>

urgh i still don't really see what direction the story is moving off to...

However, I think the King is becoming more human ... because of a certain snivelling lady ho ho ho ... maybe Gon would see this and would stop the hunter society from eliminating him...

Yes, GI although in all good respect was wonderful in the manga because it was so detailed and progressed in a very good rate was awfully packeted in the anime. What i found annoying was the fact i think in one episode they crammed up months worth of training time to go past. However the V-ball match b\w Razor pretty much kept it's essence =).

lol i didn't really notice the softness of blood in that arc...i was too wrapped up with Hisoka >.> seen naki ho ho ho. GI was pretty much a fan service for girls >.>

The NGL arc would be weird.

But it would be good to see more HXH out.

Oh, have any of you guys what the live action concerts for HxH? there's like two of them.

One of them is based on the Dark\Light chapters in the manga, where the trio go fetch their friend. If not it's a good experience to see ppl dress amazingly accurate to the characters from the manga. for instance Killua's mother looks shockingly alike to the anime. Where as Gon is ... ha ha -,- (they had decided to keep the voice actor for Gon for his part so she doesn't really have the look)

It's kind of sad that Togashi has been inactive because he isn't well but it's good to see him handing in scribbles when he was at his worst.

Regarding the manga, how different are the manga and anime?

I would say that the manga is more violent and it also goes into more detail, the fight between Hisoka and Kastro is a very good example whereas in the anime it barely lasts 2 seconds the manga is quite detailed with it.

Ok, I just finished the Greed Island OVA's and I'm guessing that the manga continues on after the point where Gon uses the spell card to locate Ging (sp?).

What chapter does the anime leave off at?

As for your question rlee currently there are only 260 chapters of the manga, Togashi (hxh's mangaka) has been ill for a while now and he has been taking breaks this current hiatus has lasted a good while now and nobody currently knows when the drought will end.

It seems that the majority of the 7 pages have been taken up with members joining and being welcomed as opposed to actually HxH chat.

no, it didn't go into specifics just showed his amazing punching ability...
which could mean he's reinforcement.

My personal theory though is that he's an emmision type like razor.
Like Razor's nen volleyball, which was made out of pure nen, the chairman's "Hyakushiki kannon" looked like it was simply a huge blast of pure nen. I think his punching skill just shows hes a talented hunter than does well on the basics (punching) and his hatsu.
