A Nintendo DS: Lite (when it comes out) or a PSP.
Well, its not me doing the buying, but my parents. They said to me, choose 1 by the time we go to Spain because as of then, we will have NO money left lol. So, i need to choose either a Nintendo DS Lite or a PSP. I havent played any of them but i am starting to edge towards the DS because of the online play.
I need your opinion. What should i pick? Give me some aspects of these consols to help :nod Thanks!

Ds lite baby, i gots the psp and ds already and the psp is well, argh. Not that good, with the ds getting internet and tv not to mention having the play yan already it has to be the ds lite. It is cheaper also both in terms of hardware and games.

If you want Nintendo games then go for the DS, if you want to play roms and have an mp3 player then go PSP. They both have online but PSP has more things it can do, it's just that it's games are nowhere near the DS in terms of fun.
DS at the moment is better than PSP unless you are going to use the homebrew stuff.

Yeah as has been said you can get a movie player for your DS, if you get a supercard and a passkey then you dont even need to buy games no more just download them onto a SD card any game you want you can get. Plus its got the wifi thing gong onwhich is endless amounts of fun...

The psp is a lousy mp3 player, for that money you could get a nano.

IF you could read his parents are going to buy him it
so it really doesn't matter if the DS is cheaper because
he's not losing any $$$
the PSP comes in a all in one package
while the DS you have to buy and then keep on buying stuff for it
so it can equal the PSP
and the PSP games are way better...
I suggest getting GTA: Liberty City Stories if you get the PSP
(and let's face it...ooooo a touch screen...it's so special....oooooo...another screen for maps....1 is enough....oooooo it's so bulky and unless your wearing baggy jeans won't fit in your pocket)
Either get a PSP
or might as well tell your parents to get you an Xbox 360
Ghost Recon 3 next month and the online gaming is probably the
best out of all the systems

this may be off topic but ghost recon 3 for the 360 will be the best game ever!

Ok, first off. 360 sucks.Revolution or PS3 pwns all. Second, i think im gonna tell them i want a DS lite now. If i dont really like DS Lite, i can always return it? My parents are giving this to me as a early present. So, im quite happy as to what ever one i get :D I think im gonna go with DS

SO your parents are going to buy you an early present
and then your going to ask them for a PS3 or Revo later???
I hope your parents got money
otherwise you won't be seeing those 2 systems for a while
Revo - (estimated $200-300) PS3 - (between $400-700)
(I really hope it's not that high)

lol. Im not some rich kid. Im not gonna ask them for Rev or PS3 later. My brother will no doubt buy one with his own money so i could easily use his. Im in Scotland so we dont go by $ dollars. Its an early present because of my birthday soon. Since we are going to Spain in September (really close to my birthday) they will be skint. So they want to buy me something before we are actually all out of money :S

So far, I'd get a DS. Lots of interesting games, which can keep you entertained for ages, it's cheap, and the touch-screen should be interesting.

First off i highly doubt his parents are willing to throw out 250 for the system and 50+ for agame and 50+ for a bigger mem stick.
the PSP comes in a all in one package
while the DS you have to buy and then keep on buying stuff for it
so it can equal the PSP
Again the addons and the DS are acculy cheaper than what the PSP and a bigger mem stick is.
and the PSP games are way better...
Cleary opinon. and if that was true it would be outselling the DS witch it is not.
I suggest getting GTA: Liberty City Stories if you get the PSP
If you have a PS2 this game is coming out for it. only good thing about it is you can use the Eloader that someone cracked in 2.6 although i bet that will be fixed in the next firmware patch.
(and let's face it...ooooo a touch screen...it's so special....oooooo...another screen for maps....1 is enough....oooooo it's so bulky and unless your wearing baggy jeans won't fit in your pocket)
Ds lite is not bulky at all. Speaking of bulky look at the PSP. who wants to use that for an mp3 player or what not? the system is easily damageable ( happened to mine allread). The touch screen controls are alot better than the little nub for PSP thats for sure.
Either get a PSP
or might as well tell your parents to get you an Xbox 360
Ghost Recon 3 next month and the online gaming is probably the
best out of all the systems
Again your opinon. Xbox360 is not worth it yet. nothing great about it. so far the games that are out on it we been playing for years... Still no game out that is clearly NEXT GEN material.
Read what i put in bold up in the quote.
Also i would like to add it depends what games you like as well. DS has been getting many great games as of late and is selling EXtreamly well because of this.
i reccemend on getting the DS lite you will not regret it.

The only advice I'm gonna give you is to check out the games available for both systems, then decide which library appeals more to you.

Slinky's rock, and that's no joke :oh
Ok I'd go with saving up though until they become cheaper and blockbuster games come out. I already see games that I am dying for on both, but the price is still not worth it imo, but DS has a slight edge since it has Castlevenia, while psp has tenchu and DW in my eye, and since Castlevenia is pretty much better, I give it a small edge.

Either buy a ds:lite or save your money and wait for ps3 or rev

Im glad the awful psp fanboy post didnt ruin this topic.
-PSP: pretty, great big screen, some great games but mostly are console ports., mp3/avi player.
-DS:GBA slot, constant growing library of great fun games, developers are now flocking to make stuff for DS(the announcement of teh addons and 10 games in one day) so the future looks even better for it.
Final Note:
The PSP is a beautiful thing, the screen is impressive, but the truth is, those who own it rarely play PSP games on it(from experience from my friends who own PSPs), and more often than now they are watching a video or playing roms.
Those that have the money to buy PSP($250) +1Gig MS($80) + $50 games could get an Ipod video or similar and get a better mp3/video player.
As for roms, sure playing roms is great, but its like getting a DS but using it mostly to play GBA games, sure its great, but thats not the main reason to own one.

Get the DS the PSP is just a downgraded PS2 with a crappy battery with 80% ports. And games like GTA:LC stories have glitches.
DS= pure games and IF you want anything else you can buy more
PSP= Fancy graphics, "Analoge" stick that looks like a speaker but you have to spent atleast 350+ to have a decent game and a 1 gig memory stick with it.
