I hope my thread doesn't get ignored again.

Alright, for stupidity's sake, let's go with both at their primes, but let's not go into the things like "Sun Wukong can just make himself huge and just step on him"

edit: If it's still unfair, just give me some ideas for adjustments that would make it fair.

Are we talking about the same Sun Wukong that survived that fire that is supposed to kill immortals?

The same Sun Wukong that defeated gods, and all that mess?

The same Sun Wukong that defeated Heaven's Army that consisted of 100,000 beings?

I'm banking Wukong wins. Maybe even easily.

Alright, fine, how about the Sun Wukong prior to his breaking into Hell? It fails to eliminate his general fighting skills, but it more or less eliminates his inability to die.

Not too keen on the legends, is that before he at those immortality pills, was hardened in that funrace, and was able to pick up the 10-ton expandable rod?

And what about that immortality technique he learned from the patriarch?

And what about that immortality technique he learned from the patriarch?
I might as well make it so he can die.

Alright, so it's Guts Prime vs. Sun Wukong with the Rod, but without Immortality.

Well, I'll have to see what the Wukong officials say about it. I remember a while back he was talked about, so I know they are around.

Anyway, initially, I'd say Wukong should win, he's still very durable being born from a rock. Retardedly strong, weilding that 10-14 ton staff like nothing, and he can more of less fly.

Can Guts survive having that pole smashed into his head?

and he can more of less fly.Apparently he can jump "36,000 miles"

Can Guts survive having that pole smashed into his head?Well I don't know. Whenever I see Guts in an OB fight, he almost always wins. I always assumed he had something reaaaaally strong up his sleeve.

First of all, there is no Gutts Prime. Gutts is pretty much a strong guy, always has been, rarely had powerups. Just the berserk armor, and ppl usually assume he uses it, unless stated otherwise.

Second, gutts usually wins because he gets VERY balanced matchups, and respect from both sides. He has lost some too, he lost vs Kyo, and lost vs Conan the barbarian, and I can't remember for the life of me, but I think he lost vs He-Man as well (which is understandable) and had a real tough one with Wolverine, but mostly, he's pitted vs equal opponents and wins.

As a character, he doesn't even have any superpowers, apart from being STRONG. Not superhuman strong, just strong enough to wield his sword for almost half a day, constantly. More like a medieval epic song hero, than a modern-day superhero. You know, a Conan type...
Berserk armor basically overrides pain and gives him 100% muscle usage, with many downsides, but it's still very recent in the manga, and there are many things we don't know about it yet.

Still, his most important fights never involved the berserk armor since he got it very recently. It's a big combat boost, but happened after 30 volumes, so most of his feats were done before that , really.

Not to mention that The Monkey King could turn each of his hairs into a duplicate of himself

Perhaps I should have said "Just straight fight, the pole against the sword, no specific magic or whatnot"

Anyway, I'm pretty close to just giving up on this topic.

Yea wow seriously. Guts is absurdly outmatched here.

Unless Gut's sword weighs more then 10 tonnes then really it's GG

Sun Wukong won't even need anything to win

Ok, so this isnt really an anime that Sun Wukong is from...its just his legend we are pitting Guts against and from what ive read off of Wikipedia, Sun Wukong would decimate(sadly) Gutts

Sun Wukong is without his immortality. It's just a simple fight, except he gets a regular staff.

So he loses two of the three advantages he had. Immortality and the weapon choice. Of course, I'm not going to take away his magic, though I'm still not allowing him to grow to the size of a mountain.

Guts has whatever he has had.

Hell, is this fight too tedious to begin with?

Anyway, if this still doesn't work, could anyone just tell me what I could do to make it work?

Use the Sun Wukong BEFORE he learned martial arts/magic

Sun Wukong WITH martial arts alone wouldn't even beat some of the Heaven's finest warriors all at once

Though then he would just be a talking monkey

This match was unfair in the first place though

You can't make it work. Sun Wukong rampaged through the entire Chinese pantheon until the Buddha himself intervened and imprisoned him under a mountain. Sun Wukong is the model for Dragon Ball's Son Goku, who was arguably toned down powerwise from the original. If you take away enough of his powers, Guts will be able to win, but you can do that to any character. Guts would beat Superman if you take away his flight, super-invulnerability, super-strength, super-speed, and heat vision, but what's the point?

omg laser pew pew!

And just to add onto to Marsala. The mountain alone couldn't hold Sun Wukong, he could have easily blew it up. It was because Buddha had put powerful magics on it prventing Sun Wukong from doing so
