That's right, a new Zoids series has come out. This one involves the entire planet undergoing an apocolypse, and a new civilization emerges and excavates zoids.

The main character, Ruuji, activates a Zoid called Murasume Liger. That's right, ANOTHER Liger.

You know, I had actually in mind recently of making the thread, but I never got around to it.

I watched the first subbed episode so far, and from that my initial impression is that it should be pretty good. I know it's still being released and I really don't know when it's going to end. Good job in making the thread though, Masaki.

YAY! Liger, I was starting to miss him. I liked the first series with the change-able modes of ligerand the fights/rules and all, but the second series wasn't appiling to me.

The first two zoids series were simply amazing (chaotic century--van and fionna, new century--Bit Cloud) but Zoids fuzors turned me off to the genre. Where does this anime fit in terms of these previous zoids series. I'm still considering downloading them :shakefist

This one apparently takes place a few thousand years later. A few planet changing events happened which essentially destroyed all civilization for hundreds of years. This is more like villages starting to maintain themselves against renegade Zoids and people piloting them for nafarious deeds.

Edit: CJ, I too was turned off by Fuzors, but apparently fans in Japan and Australia (whom got to see the second season of it, since it was pulled after a little way through the first season here in the States) said the second season redeemed the series.

The one I liked the most was the one with Bit Cloud. The other one was alright and the fusers I dont think I really watched it. Kind of wished they just stuck to the one with Bit Cloud. :P

i don't like the shadowfox in yellow in this new series. i always thought it would be either white, black or red.

IMO genesis is kind of a remake of the chaotic century. yo see there isn't much info about the world of zi and why the zoids are in ruins and buried so in a way the explanation in the beginning kind of gives all the series more background as to why they are doing the stuff they do.

Haha. I'm the same. But I felt, "What the hell, I might aswell try this one out." so I downloaded the first episode and right now I'm desperately awating the next episodes to be subbed. :amuse

I agree. I really wish they would have gone back and created a second season. I think that New Century Zero with Cloud was the best of all. Even though it was the shortest of the series, I think it was the best in terms of storyline and character development. I really miss Liger Zero though, too.

Well, you see, you didn't exactly give much an opinion. You merely stated the show would probably be '"shit", as you put it. From the sound of that statement, it really didn't seem like you had even watched the first episode.

If you have a complaint about the show, address it in a better-formed post, not just saying the show is shit. My reason to negative rep you was completely just, so if you feel the need to do the same, go for it, I'm just stating you shouldn't be so haphazard with your comments.

GX got rushed up ending do to bad timezone rating thanks to Bandai... there was much to tell also.

As for Zoid Zero I heard the reason they stopped was because the production sales of Zoids related to the series were soo good that they felt that they did not need to advertize anymore (yes the sad part about Zoid is that it is made for model sales more then the anime itself, sad really).

That is indeed, pretty ironic. It really is sad when an anime profits are lower than the actual merchandise. It's also sad to hear that was a possible reason for the -abrupt- ending to the series. Well, we can always dream, I suppose.

Yeah, I wish that there was a second season of New Century Zero too. There was still alot of potential plot left. Zero is most likely my favorite of the Zoid series. A second series of Zero would be awesome to see, but it most likely will never happen.

And I have now watched the first two episodes of Genesis. It seems like an interesting series so far, but I'll give it at least until about episode 15 until I decide if I really like it or not.

My favorite was CC. I loved how there were gigatic and powerful Zoids, plus the Zoid wars and such. No rules or restrictions. Raven + Genobreaker = Bad ass. And the last four episodes kicked ass.

You can find most of the Zero episodes on Kaaza. They are all dubs though.

Actually compared to those last 4 which was more about power, the Last episode of Zero was much better, it was pure Zoid versus Zoid, mind and tactics . I just loved when Liger Zero comes out in the end when we think he got scraped out of nowhere and teaches Berserk Fury to not underestimate his normal form.

Genesis is actually the first Zoid anime I've ever watched. Sure, I've seen better characters but I usually don't watch these kinds of mecha animes for the great characters, but more because of the cool robots in them. :)

Anyway.

Also, one thing I don't like about this series is how quickly the characters are developed. They were all introduced and developed in 10 episodes.

Jagger was the coolest. I enjoyed the awesome speed he had when he used it. The other form was awful in terms of color and ability, but at least he was able to cut with it O_O

Zoids Genesis...I've always been a little ashamed to like Zoids, mainly because I like to see giant metal animals fighting. Whenever a liger does that leap-land-skid-turn move, I griiiin. But I like Genesis, maybe because the character designs are like *other guilty pleasure* Digimon. :P

I heard that Ruuji's Liger gets evolution forms.

I think the series has a lot of character devolpment. A lot more then what I expected to be honest. The subbers have been pretty constant with releases to so it is one of my favorites currently.

Ahh finally, hadnt realized there was a zoids genesis thread.... sometimes i feel like the only Zoids fan around ^_^:cry

I picked up this series a while back too... around ep 16....been following it since. I liked Chaotic Centure/GF and New Century.... but something about Fuzors rubbed me the wrong way (which seems to be the general opinion:amuse )

In chaotic century, i think it was Ravens dad who said they came from the blue planet (earth im supposing) and New Century happens long after.... right? I didn't watch much of Fuzors, but that happened after NC....i think. The timeline for Zoids is never all that exact is it? And Genesis happens long after all of that im supposing....

On another note, is there a series that introduces the Konig wolf zoid? it was sorta just 'there' in fuzors...but i was always under the impression it was a special zoid... that and in the Zoids game for GC, its piloted by some characters ive never seen before...
