Nintendo Booklet page translation, please!

I really only want one line of this translated, though if you feel like translating the rest of it, that'd be awesome. The only line I'm curious about is the line with 9-23-1889 on it. Does that say that's when Nintendo was founded?

This is all I've been able to translate so far:

明治２２年　（１８８９） ９月　２３日
The 22nd year of Meiji (1889) Septemper 23rd

I've no clue what the 1st 2 kanji mean, but I'm assuming that it is the year Nintendo was founded. I'll keep you posted if I found out for sure.
