Your poll sucks.
My favorite book is a novel by Umberto Eco entitled Foucault's Pendulum. I believe that 95% or more of the forum would not be able to get through chapter three. Even less would understand it if they read it.

so the only reason why you like it is because it makes you feel smart...nice. Anyway, my favourite book is called Victory by Joesph Condrad. 95% of the forum would understand it.

Coming from the idiot who doesn't understand quantum physics and how it is an integral part of every day life.
I actually enjoy Eco immensely, as do many. Foucault's Pendulum is a thinking man's The Da Vinci Code. It's the same sort of conspiracy theory, except better written and with more facts.

i do not think that just because you understand a book about quantum physics makes you smarter than every one else nor does it make everyone else an idiot it just means that you like quantum physics. not everyone likes that i hate science myself. i like literature and computers. not every intelligent person likes quantum physics therefore i think that it is stupid to call him an idiot simply because he does not have your interests.
people are different. could he understand quantum physics if he took a college class? maybe , maybe not but i do not think that you can judge his intelligence based off of whether or not he does

What? What book about quantum physics? I was referring to Adam's location, idiot.

I've always found this amusing. I could go and take a senior level history or English class and at least pass. Most college students don't have a prayer of passing a senior level physics class. Even those who are studying other disciplines of science. The math is just too hard for most of you.

I don't overanalyze it. I read it for what it is : a book of strategy utilized in defeating your enemy. It's incredible how much easier something is to comprehend when you're not trying to read it as something it's not.

I love to read non-fiction books, but more of the war genre. In terms of fiction, I'll read anything that's interesting (Tom Clancy).

Just got done reading The Catcher in the Rye and found that quite interesting, another book in the same category that's a little more dense is A Clockwork Orange.
Also if your looking for a really entertaing novel The Things They Carried was great, I had to read it for lit and so far it has been my favorite.

:amuse You're so humble. Although you're pry right about passing the histry class (Idk about the english class though). However, before you get too cocky, I bet the other science majors could pass the senor level phsysic class if they had studied phsysics.
as far as my faverite book, I have no idea, I'll come up with something later and post it.

Awesome. I love the Art of War. My hobbie is military tactic. Sun Tzu was brilliant, although I whole heartedly agree that overanalyzing it is a mistake. That's exactly what I did the first time I read it. I forced myself to read it again and saw it in an entirely new light.

The Things They Carried is a book with a collection of short stories. The Book is a compilation of anecdotes and stories about Vietnam with letters and correspondences from real soldiers included. Damn good book.

Actually, I'm planning on reading Foucault's Pendulum after I finish The Name of the Rose(by Umberto Eco too). Now that you say it's hard to understand only makes me want to read it even more.
Anyway, my favorite book (as of right now) is The Rule of Four by Ian Caldwell and Dustin Thomason. It's a book that deals with the obsession with an inextricable mystery that has never been solved, and how this obsession can change one's life(for better or worse). I'd say that it's probably on a lesser scale than Eco's or Brown's books, but I truly enjoyed this book because of easily I could relate with the protagonists.
