I've read the first two. They were great. I've been waiting for them to me translated for a long time. I haven't gotten my hands on the third one yet. It seems that the stores around here are slower in getting books than other places.

Look at waldenbooks, books-a-million, or borders. They're in the manga section.

I just finished reading volume three it was short. I also found out that the movie Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust was based on it, but of course the book was better even if it was really short. Has anyone else finished volume three?

I finished the third volume a couple of days ago. It was pretty good....completely different from Bloodlust though.

Wow, Narutofan's search actually works for once. Anyways, just found out about these and I'm really interested in them. Are they any good. I kind of heard that the translation ruined them a bit.

I started the first novel. Aside from weird punctuation it seems nice. I'm a huge fan of the anime and the bookstore next door has 9 volumes I think.

Since the 11th novel was recently released, I though I'd revive this thread.
So, who else has come to know the greatness that is D?
And how do you think the VHD novels compares to the like of Anne Rice's works, Bram Stoker's Dracula, or *cough* the Twilight series? I've already purchased Dracula but have yet to read it, and I've heard good things about some of Anne Rice's books.
Anyways, it seems as though Pale Fallen Angel had a bit more humor in it than the previous novels. D actually cracks a joke a couple of times! Even though it took me a while to get that one with the laser defense :sweatdrop. And did anyone else feel nervous with the exclamations that Balazs's attack might even be faster than D's sword?
