back me up on this Elfen Lied fans... Does anybody else hate all those negative comments that Elfen Lied has received from Anime lovers? You know, it might be alright to comment about the good aspects of the show, but do they have to bring it down by saying that "it is just too violent for me" or "i didn't like it because of nudity" blablablabla... when the truth is, if you don't wanna watch an anime, then just don't do it. And to all of those with negative comments about it and that have watched it completely: If it was so violent to start with then why didn't you stop watching it? Truth is that this violence and "mature" content are what have attracted so many people to watch. Besides, if you are going to comment on how much nudity is shown in this great series, then you should watch some hentai just so you could see what is true nudity when it comes to anime. Ohhh no, but you probably wouldn't say anything negative about hentai, you would probably say that it "lacks nudity". Bottom line is, if you're not going to say anything good about it, then don't say anything at all, because it pisses true fans a lot.

And to all of those who support this series, good for you! It takes intelligence to truly understand these types of controversial animes, just look at EVA and you'll know what I'm talking about. :P

Hmm, so you're saying only GOOD criticism is allowed? Gee, sorry dude but how can one improve if you aren't allowed to see the bad parts of things? It would be great if things were perfect as they are now but I don't believe that's true so can't agree with you on that point. :P

However I'd like to say that "too much nudity" and "violence" is a relative term. As far as for the nudity part I'd say that the nudity is simply nudity and nothing else. (Tho the part removing Nyu's clothes in the beginning might have been a but unnecessary - or at least wrongly put since I think the shirt should have been removed before going for the pants... ) Comparing to hentai this is nothing to be talking about.

BUT! Many (if not all) of the people saying these things about EF haven't seen more than the first ep at the most so simply: DON'T SAY ANYTHING IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT! That's my advice to them ^_^

About EVA.. Well I won't say anymore. I'm not a huge fan. X3. And thus, Slippy out.

I have seen the entire show of Elfen Lied, all 14 episodes. I have also read the manga untill chapter 27.

Violence: I think the story is great and the violence... well, it's alot and much blood and such. After a while it's a reapeat of itself. That may become boring. But when I watched it I didn't think of it. For some reason I'm facinated by that.

Nudity: I don't feel that they are sexualized in EF. When they are naked that is what they are and nothing more, nothing less. When Mayuu and Nana takes a bath, I get the feeling that it is a bath they are taking and not an erotic insunation about those two having sex in the bath. In the manga Lucy has giant breats, that's my opinoin, but in the anime they look normal.

I must go to bed now. I shall continue this discussion tomorrow.

I personally found Elfen Lied to be a great anime, albeit graphic. It really really goes in depth in the philosophy that has stood true for thousands of years:

Nyu... one hasn't to be 18 to read the manga, watch the anime and to become a member in this fc. However, it's adviceable that you are around that age, due to its explicit violence and nudeness scenes.

Yes, I remember I saw something about the anime beeing 15+. In Sweden, for movies, the ages are like: Free (from 0 and upwards), 7, 11 (younger children may watch in the precence of an adult) and 15. For the 15 you got to be atleast 15 to watch, doesn't help to bring your mum with you. Not like anyone gonna check your age, but this is the rules. ^^

Such behaviour is retarded. I'm not certain that the mods can track such things, but you could ask about it.

And do you know Betty <3 (or whatever her name is nowdays)? When I had the originally fc, she wanted to become member eventhough she hadn't seen the show and was like 13. I did advice her to wait untill she is 15 to see it (I think the western rating actually is 15+) but nonetheless I made her member. Special member, or what I called it.
At the time her username was Ketari-san, if anyone knows who I'm speaking of.

Edit: I think that... hmmm... that's tough. If Lucy caught him first time, he'd die, but with Naruto, he usually manages to escape that sort of thing =| I think Naruto would win, but only because that's the way his character is designed- he never loses.

When the anime was pretty new I heard rumours about plans for a second season, but I haven't heard that they actually made a sequel. So if you haven't already read the manga that is the best you can do if you want more Elfen Lied.

On the other hand, the manga got some diffrencies from the anime: Lucy seems more deranged as she laugh on her way out of her prison and kills Kurama's assistant, the girls generally got bigger boobs and the manga seems all over more wicked than the anime. However, there is a charachter in the manga that you don't get to see in the anime. Personally I haven't read the entirely manga, just the beginning and from chapter 74 to end, so there might be more major diffrencies that I'm not aware of.

When the anime was pretty new I heard rumours about plans for a second season, but I haven't heard that they actually made a sequel. So if you haven't already read the manga that is the best you can do if you want more Elfen Lied.

On the other hand, the manga got some diffrencies from the anime: Lucy seems more deranged as she laugh on her way out of her prison and kills Kurama's assistant, the girls generally got bigger boobs and the manga seems all over more wicked than the anime. However, there is a charachter in the manga that you don't get to see in the anime. Personally I haven't read the entirely manga, just the beginning and from chapter 74 to end, so there might be more major diffrencies that I'm not aware of.

That's Nozomi. Anyway, there's a few important differences. Lucy's(or Kaede's) past is explored earlier in the manga compared to the anime. That and Kurama doesn't die like in the anime...or Mariko, for that matter..at least not until far later. There is no music box.

As for the OP..Naruto would die..I noticed that people in that Naruto vs Lucy thread forgot a few things about Lucy. She's intelligent..and if she can't reach you with her vectors, she'll use the debris around her as high-velocity projectiles.
