Devil fruit duplicates

I have only seen the dub one peice anime, and never read any of the manga, so if this has already happend, just trash this and bitchslap me.





In the world of one peice, there are fruit. not just any fruit, mind you, but the cursed fruit known as the devil fruit. now, I don't know from what ungodly tree they come from,but this much is certain: these fruit gives any who ingest them amazing, logic-defying powers that would make the fantastic four hang their heads in shame.



however, while many powers have been shown, no two people ever seem to have eaten the same fruit. is this because there simply are no duplicates, or have they just not yet been shown?



if, in fact, each fruit is one of a kind, then how could they have names like gum-gum and chop-chop? clearly somone must have known what they did when they where named. and how else would you know but by ingesting them?




so, I was wondering, does anyone think there will eventually be another rubber-man, or another muncher? please post your thoughts.

They're called Gomu Gomu and Barabara.

Though there don't seem to be any duplicates, there are sometimes similar ones, notably Lasso's Inu Inu Fruit and the Arabasta guard guy's Inu Inu Fruit: Model Jackal.

Well, we've only seen a few of the fruits in the series. Even in the manga, only a handfull. We do know they all look differently. A GomuGomu looks different from a BaraBara looks different from a Thunder Fruit. As for naming them, Its my guess that there is a place where all these fruits are grown. And in this creepy creepy orchard, theres a tender to the trees. He's going to scare me when we see him.

Oh, and as for duplicates. I'm fairly certain once a user dies, another fruit is grown. One Gomu Gomu at a time. And if you eat two different fruits, you die.

Is that fact or theory? I remember reading somewhere that the powers will be overwritten/replaced, not that you die.
