Who in your opinion is the strongest?

Now.. Let me specify that question a little bit more, who in your opinion is the strongest of the current generation who is ALIVE so far? I'm sure we could go just say that Shodai and Nidaime Hokage are the strongest or something along those lines but I want to know who you think is the strongest of the current generation and remember he or she has to be alive.

In my opinion, Itachi is by the far the strongest hands down. He's mastered practically everything [exaggeration obviously] and he's developed his Sharingan very well. [Although they might be deteriorating since that chapter in the manga..?] I mean Orochimaru's even afraid of him! I think that's why he left Akatsuki in pursuit of his own twisted dream.

Well, anyway, all I can say that good luck to Sasuke in trying to kill him.

Oh yeah! I totally forgot about Akatsuki leader, who I was gonna say (though I really don't like him) was Itachi, I have to admit he's pretty damn strong

Itachi or the Akatsuki leader. Now usually the leader would be stronger, but Itachi is way more important to the plot than the leader, who hasn't even made his formal debut yet. Plus I think the leader is Kakashi's father Sakumo, which would almost ensure that he be fought by Kakashi and not Naruto or Sasuke, who are going to surpass him by the end (um, if they haven't already).

Hmm, the only reason why Orochimaru was afraid of Itachi was because of his sharingan.

About the leader of Akatsuki being the strongest, we still have yet to see him fight or anything, so you can't really say he's the strongest.

My vote goes for Orochimaru.

Remember how much work Orochimaru put into carefully planning the invasion because he knew that he couldn't just stroll in there and start running wild without getting murdered after a while.

Akatsuki leader, since it's shonen the leader ALWAYS is the strongest. Itachi would probably be next in line though for making Orochimaru look like his bitch.

Imagine if the entire akatsuki (minus dead members, plus tobi) attacked konoha, say when some of the stronger members were lured out by orochimaru. I would have to say judging by how incredibly strong the akatsuki are compared to the average genin, chunnin, or even jounin, (plus we have no idea the power level of some members) they would be able to handle maybe the entire population. I'm not saying this would happen...but what if it did? :nuts

I would say it greatly depends on when in the timeline this question is asked. At the current moment probably the Akatsuki leader. However, we know next to nothing about him, so we can't be sure. But he is the leader, so I give him the credits...
Ask this question 20 mangas later, and the situation might be totally different. In the end, I think Naruto will probably turn out the strongest, but nobody knows for sure untill it happens.

The Akatsuki leader would have to be pretty strong, since he's the leader. But since we don't know what he's like, then I reckon that Itachi is fairly strong.

But it is kind of hard to point the finger at the strongest ninja since they all differ in their skill levels and having different strengths and weaknesses.
