4Kids also made some edits to Pokemon. For instance, an episode with a gun was cut out, leaving two plotholes. The music when Satoshi/Ash, Kasumi/Misty, and Takashi/Brock split up was changed from dramatic to the typical end of the episode music.

Secondly, 4Kids no longer has the license to Pokemon.

Along with DBZ it's the biggest butchery of an anime I've seen. I had never watched One Piece until I saw the dub version. I thought the show was for little kids and never watched it again. It wasn't until months after that I decided to watch the Japanese version, and was floored at how good it was. It's unfortunate for Americans that they get a shell of show that has had all it's emotion and humor ripped from it.

Not all dubs are bad, I Thoroughly enjoyed the Full metal alchemist dub. The problem is is that anime is art and when you change something you remove part of it's soul and what made it great.

They wouldn't care. I snooped their forums and I see a lot of hate threads but do they care? No. The vast members on the 4Kids forum are <14 and some of them don't know the difference between a good and bad dub. I survived over 50 episodes of the dub 4Kids.

For them to change the dub around similar to the sub, the VA's would have to be influence by the criticism's and than they would get up and saying something. The VA's have the show in there hands and if they don't like something they'll picket and than 4Kids will delay there show until they find a replacement, bringing down ratings and dropping the show.

I just watched the OP dub for the first time. I'll be honest here.

The intro song was too bad. I didn't cringe or anything. Sure, the original would have been better, but whatever.

Most everyone's voices are all right. Usopp is a bit odd, but it was all right. Not offensive to the ears. The biggest gripe I have is Luffy's voice. JESUS CHRIST.

It was the scene where he busts into Crocodile's casino, and he begins yelling. My brain goes "Who the fuck is yelling?" Then I realize the horrible truth; that sound is comming out of Luffy's mouth. Just that, just that, tore everything down. It was depressing.

It was destroyed beyong recognition in the dub. It was filled with cut and edited scenes along with horrible voices and the lamest jokes and puns. It can't be called OP anymore.
