Gol D. Roger, Sengoku, and Luffy

Ok, so I was thinking. Unless it has been said and I missed it...

If Gol D. Roger was the Pirate King, and also an equal with White Beard... How was he caught? What made it possible to take the most powerful pirate on the sea down?


Now lets say Ao Kiji when referring to Luffy's Grandfather was referring to Gol D. Roger. That means he was one of the people involved in apprehending Gol D. Roger. But we all think that the Pirate King being Luffy's grandfather would be predictable and lame.


But what if, to make it more interesting... Sengoku is Luffy's father? Thus being the son of Gol D. Roger. Sengoku hated his father for whatever reason, hated pirates because of him, and became the complete opposite of his Father.

Luffy of course not being able to be raised by his father who is a very important Marines official. Ended up hearing so many great things about his GrandFather who was the Pirate King. So instead of wanting to be like his father, he chose the way of his Grandfather.


Couldn't that be an interesting twist? Gold Roger's capture and downfall were caused by his own son, and his son's son will become the new Pirate King whom his father detests.

But there is no "D" in Sengoku's name.. Well.. He maybe got rid of it..
But still.. It'll be too "Star Wars" like..
In the final battle between Sengoku and Luffy it'll be like: "Luffy, I'm your father..."
I think this Sauro guy (or whatever name of this giant is) is Luffy's grandfather, since they'll probably meet with Aokiji..

And Luffy would know Sengoku is his father. It would juss be a twist when we find out Luffy's history and such.

hm...i don't know why you say that that giant is luffy's grandfather...it could be but if he dies it cannot be..

don't you remember the expression of luffy about his grandfather?it's like he is "afraid" of him,also this is 20 years ago and luffy is what?17?18? so it's impossible..the giant is a link to those guys with the D. that fought against those who created the world government...and those olds mans(the 5 elder stars) or are "immortal" and have more than 800 years or they are the descendants of those who killed the ones that left those messages..like those old man when talking to the dr.clover it look it like they already knew all story...and when they started to don't like it bang.

about gol d. roger..he was looking for the truth..and he must find it the real truth about the past poneglyphs and he knew that the government was behind him..maybe the truth made him to "give up" his life to some purpose..maybe something about the destiny of the D's(:D -> the smile of every guy that have D in their name) and about luffy.

wait a min Sengoku was with robin when she was young right. how did luffy end up with shanks and who is luffys mum if you think that Sengoku is luffy dad?

And Sengoku would have had Luffy after Robi's ordeal.

It's never been said who Luffy lived with. That was left up to our imagination. We all know that Roger, Blackbeard, and Luffy are all related somehow, now it appears Sauro is also somehow related to Luffy and his family. Teach is a pretty big guy, but not a giant by any standard. Roger doesn't seem like a giant at all, but ya' never know... maybe Whitebeard has got a D somewhere in there like Sauro. A family fighting for glory maybe? We'll just have to wait for Oda's brilliance to lay-out exactly how everything works.

Like D is a middle name, given to people because of someone special who had D in their name or started with D...

i think d stands for death. also wasnt ace and luffy brothers and they grew up with each other. since ace is older then luffy buy like 5 years then he should be where robin is if sengoku is luffy dad

Ace is 3 years older than Luffy. He's 20 right now. He was born in the same year of the Ohara incident. the problem? Ace was born in East Blue and Aokiji was in West Blue or on the marine Headquarters on the Grand Line. So it's a bit hard.

I think Gold is their grandpa though. i have a bit theory there. Why was gold captured? what if they used his daughter or someone close to him, and in exchange for his/her freedom gold gave himself in?

Reasons:

Ep 1: Luffy talks to coby (takes off his hat and looks at it) he talks that his does not mine dieing to live his dream of becoming a priate king.

Most eps with fights: Luffy stands and protects his friends. he want to protect his friends life. he would rather give up his own life then let his friends die.

Also luffy is afrid of death (he said it one ep). and if he dies then one piece is over.
