Is there anywhere on the web where i can find a list of many, if not all, japanese verbs? in their dictionary form? (if possible that is)
Thanks :)

hello rincewind~ arent u the one who's translating the databook over at the library :amuse
hmmmmm all the verbs huh... I think u'll be better off with a dictionary...pretty hard to find a list.
I got use a combination of two sites to ensure my accuracy.
http://dictionary.reference.com/translate/text.html
and
http://language.tiu.ac.jp/tools.html
What you can do is:
1. Go to the first site, and type in the verb you want. You'll get a result that is in "-nasai" form, basicaly that's "masu" form right~and its always in kanji too.
2. Copy that result then go to the second site. Paste it in the box, then click on the "日ー英” option. A new page will come up with the word you inputted on the left side of the page, and on the right there will be a box giving you the dictionary form of the word you inputted, and a definition in english It is also in Kanji here but itz got furigana on it too so thatz nice.
The second site is a reading tutor. You can actually paste a whole passage in there, and it will break the passages and sentences into words, and display their dictionary form, english difinition and sometimes usage in the right panel.
however the site wont help you explain particales.
I think the second site will be a great help for your translation task if u get stuck by any chance.
Oh and one more interesting site: http://www.oop-ack.com/manga/soundfx.html
This one contains a list of many Japanese Sound effects and their meanings.
Sorry I couldnt get you a complete list of verbs.
I'll post it up for you if I find one.
