Dr. Katou is an ambitious woman who seeks to revolutionize the corrupt and inefficient Japanese medical system from within by becoming a professor in a teaching hospital. She enlists a maverick surgeon, Dr. Asada Ryuutarou, to help her with research that would catapult her to a professorship should they succeed and publish. However, Asada's refusal to conform to the system soon threatens to destroy not only her plans but her entire career. Katou is prepared to do anything, including going along with the system, in order to achieve her end goal, but she begins to question whether she has gone too far as Asada's actions bring many of the system's shortcomings to light.

damn nobody bothered to post in this great (older than my account) thread? fuck. then again i also never expected it. probably cause i never heard of it either. but i just pulled an allnighter. pretty much from 5 @ night till 12.30 noon. checked out and read the first 37 chapters. this is some great shit, cant believe its so unkown. try the shit out for those who dont know it. for those that do, how often do the chapters come out. thinking about dl till volume 13, even though only the first 37 chapters are in english. anywayz rep for everybody in this thread, good thing i found out about this hidden baby.

It takes a long time for each chapter to come out due to the heavy medical content involved in each chapter I imagine! I remember reading on nexgears site that the next two chapters will be out soon. Someone is also doing volume summaries for each volume up to volume 14 on the nexgear forums so you can still keep more or less up to date.

I really enjoyed reading this so much! I wish more people would read it.

Wow, I've checked out a few other medical mangas, but this one really takes the cake. All the others either used terrible fake medical conditions or treatments, or were just way to predictable. Can't believe I've never heard about this! Theres even a J-drama! I think I've died and gone to heaven.

so my rant wasn't for no reason at all:wink? ive read it on onemanga as well. smile-big good to see y'all liking it. they only got it till chapter 37. ill be dl the torrent till 12 or 13 or 14, or till whenever its released in japanese.

also, the jdrama was fucking horrible. even the drawings in the manga ACT better than those in the jdrama. i actually thought it was an anime when i saw it on veoh. boy was i disappointed. ill keep on reading and checking out the manga, way better. i actually didn't expect too much of it being a medical manga and all that. boy was i wrong.

I am not a big fan of onemanga at all!! Huge quality drop.. I downloaded all the chapters though.

This is one series I wish I had good japanese for I would love to be up-to-date with it! I know that it's a tough one to scanlate as well. Random point the original creator and mangaka of this series passed away in 2004 due to liver cancer but he was a doctor and medical journalist, which is why the medical aspects of the series are so accurate.

um, if the guys dead, who the hell is continuing it? and from what chapter on did the artist or writer change? must have been from the raws, as i didn't see too much change in the translated chapters till 37.

In the later raw volumes the art style changes significantly, everyone is still recognisable but they just look different. It's being continued by someone else I don't know how they picked him though...

Volume 16 tank just came out online we are really really far behind it's one of those where I don't imagine we will catch up for a good few years.

yeah i just checked out v14 till 16. hope they get translated soon. unlike shonen this aint easy to make out without text.
