I thought that I was the ONLY person who watched "Kyou Kara Maou!" I'm up to episode 10, and it's rather an intriguing series. However, I feel that most people don't realize that it's a parody. It's a joke on those silly harem animes, and features Yaoi-jokes-- animation is sub-par, too. But it's for all of these that I adore this series. Where else can slapping someone across the face be a marriage proprosal?

My friends and I say that "Kyou Kara Maou is so bad that it's good. You think it's going to improve so you watch it, only to find that the next episode is just as bad (if not as worse) as the previous one... and it's a never-ending cycle."

I love the way you never know what is going to happen next! I laughed soooo hard with the "marriage proposal" that i had to pause and then resume 10 min later. It's great! :D

What exactly is this show is about? Can someone post some kind of summary so that people who haven't heard of this series at least know what it's about so they can decide whether or not they are going to watch it. It's really hard to make an opinion when people just post how "I like it...but the gay jokes...." that isn't saying much to people who want to know what it's about.

It is based off a series of books. There is also a manga that just started last year. I believe the anime has aired 76 episodes, with 78 being the last. It has a slight shonen-ai subtext to it, but it is fairly harmless.

No problem. I have watched most of the 76 episodes. It is mostly fan-service, but a fun diversion.

lol its really a nice show "men's " humor can be really funny.Not the typical girl humor you see on most episodes . I was suprised with the graphics ( watching dvd releases from vision anime) . Its not really action based i am at ep 8 atm. But can be really funny .

I bought the first dvd, but the release rate is way too slow. So, I got bored on my vacation and downloaded the entire series.:) I liked the fan-subbed version a lot better actually.

Anyway, I love this show. I'm not as obsessed over it like Ouran High School Host Club or Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, but it was extrememly enjoyable. I watched it a little bit at a time and that makes it good.

I watched this show quite a while ago. I might need to rewatch it. But, I'm not sure if that will ever happen. It was definently worth watching though....

I'm a yaoi fan, so I'm happy to find a prodominately homosexual anime. Quite a breath of fresh air, to be honest.

The stroyline is great, and I think it's an all-around great anime. I hadn't heard of the manga, though wondered if it existed. I've only seen the first six volumes of the anime, and can't wait to get my hands on the last three DVDs.

Lastly, I've heard that this has a second season. Was I lied to, or do I have even more to look forward to??

Yes, it goes up to 78 episodes total I think. As for the manga, it is fairly new. I think it started last year. There are quite a few novels though.

I think I would give it maybe a 6 or 6.5 out of 10. I liked some of the characters quite a bit (love Wolfram). It has its funny parts, I wasn't disapointed in watching it. In fact when the ova's start coming out, I'll probably watch those too. I think the novels and manga are better than the anime though. The plots diverge after a bit, when the anime catches up to the novels.

I still haven't watched the ova yet. I really need to do that. I really wish they would publish some of the original Kyo Kara Maoh novels over here in english, I would love to read some of them.
