I'm well into my Remix's at the moment, I used to hate the idea of original tracks getting remixed, I some what thought it took away the artists original intentions and was derogatory for them; However I'm starting to appreciate them alot more these days.

How do other people think about songs being remixed? Does it have a positive or negative effect for you.

Remixes can be great, IF done well.

which is usually not the case.

Beck - Broken Drum (Boards of Canada Remix)
Soulwax - E-talking (Tiga's Disco Drama Remix)

= awesomeness

Remixes are definitely a mixed thing.

The remixed Death From Above Album was incredible.
but then the Bloc Party remix album came out. That was really, really bad, except for the song that Death From Above 1979 did.

Beck remixes are almost always great. The Gameboy remixes are sooooooo good.

Dude what the hell is up with that post? ^

Re-mixes are potentially brilliant, potentially horrific. Arcturus' remix album, Disguised Masters is nothing short of awesome.
