I think he could in some continuity(AoA?). But... Supes is too fast and smart to be caught by him. And writers would be inclined to forget that particular ability because it would get cheesy as hell if he slayed people way above his league like that.

He could do it as soon as they started fighting. Superman wouldn't continually fly around in the beginning of the fight so Nightcrawler could teleport and take Supes head before he even knew what happened. I admit this is cheap, but NC could beat him.

But when he is done teleporting, that is, when he reaches his destination in our dimension, he makes a purple cloud of smoke and a distinctive BAMF! sound. This is like waving a big red flag and bending over to catch a boot in the ass, given the speed of Superman's reflexes and his amazing hearing.

Kurt Teleports.

Superman can go really really fast.

Superman goes so fast, its faster than Kurts ability to register thoughts.

Superman kills Kurt before Kurt was aware he was done porting.

Or, how about, on a lark, we all assume that Nightcrawler does manage to somehow teleport directly behind Supes without Supes knowing.

As soon as he arrives at his destination, IN OUR DIMENSION (he has to get here to get Supes' noggin, no?), he makes a BAMF! noise and conjures up a cloud of purple smoke. Since we know that Nightcrawler can't move at lightspeed or anywhere near it, there will be a slight delay between his arrival and his grabbing Supes' head.

And Supes, since he can hear a baby crying on the other side of the planet, will surely hear the BAMF! He may even get a whiff of that purple smoke. :laugh Needless to say, Supes would then near-instantaneously turn around (99% lightspeed > speed of an acrobat) and knock the blue off of Nightcrawler, no joke.

Well only problem of this argument of super hearing is the speed of sound being too slow. In the time it would take to hear NC go poof a lot of shyt would happen so sound alone is mostly useless.

Superman's strongest defense is Super speed as he in that mode, if he circles constantly he would be able to see any attack.

well nightcrawler can get his hand inside of superman considering there is no subconscious safeguard, its actually an awareness he has. meaning that if he wanted to teleport with his hand in superman he can. also we would have to have superman without the Source protecting him, so if nightcrawler gets the killer instinct to do that, then he could teleport to the point he has superman's heart and teleport his heart away. i doubt superman is gonna do a lot considering nightcrawler is squeezing his heart or his brain, which ever he picks.

well thats why i went for brain instead of heart once i thought about it, because superman does have nerves and that would be a much better choice, and if NC lucks up he could grab a part of superman that would immobilize him for a bit.

I think the best bet for kurt would be to teleport a sharp metal object like his sword into superman's brain and quickly warp out. Superman might not die but he'll become comatose like what jon jon did.

Teleportation alters space-time, not "deals a ridiculous amount of damage". Something appearing in its place like Kurt's foot, would effectively replace it as opposed to merely physically try to hurt it. Its the same reason as the whole teleport a body part out.

its not a safeguard, its like a spatial awareness. if kurt wanted to for some strange reason teleport inside a wall he could. he just doesn't because he is aware of the wall.

Wrong, the dimension in which Nightcrawler teleports, his younger brother Abyss sucks things through or his older brother Kiwi Black gets his powers from, is quite livable, even though it's smells like sulfur.

In fact, it's where a mutant from biblical times, know as Azazel, aka the legendary Satan or Belzebud, was sealed by other mutants from biblical times (these are Apocalypse strenght type mutants, most of them are immortal, I only know of four). Azazel has red skin, normal hands and feet, pointy ears and yellow eyes. He's got a huge load of powers but cannot teleport out of that dimension to our dimension. He can still teleport like he wants in that dimension. Oh, and I forgot to mension that he is the father of the three siblings mentionned above. Yes, Nightcrawler's father! This is in Uncanny X-men 428-434, which I have smile-big .

So how did he tap Mystique's ass if he was in another dimension? Azazel has the power to possess a human body from his dimension. The possessed human will fecond a human with Azazel's sperm (maybe through teleportation). The reason he feconds woman is that all his children have powers that are related to that dimension. If a big number of them are reunited, their powers resonate together and they can open a portal to the dimension, so he can get out. Nightcrawler had lots of siblings but most of them burned when the portal was opened with Nighty, Abyss and Kiwi black in it. Those three survived but the rest was toasted.

Nighty has other sibling in the dimension as well. I'm gonna edit my post and add the scans of his incestious sister and of Azazel.

Back on topic: I've seen Nighty teleport Deadpool's head to kill him, I don't think he would be able to do it on Superman. Otherwise, most vilains in AoA would have been decapitated a long time ago...
