Flash MX: Fading Effect

Well I wonder how to fade a picture I have ? Or simply how to lower the opacity on the symbole? (im a newbie lol)

alright, create a symbol. if you have Flash MX, go to windows>properties

select the symbol, then in the properties window, select "alpha channel"

there will be a slider bar that will adjust the opacity.
