I was just thinking that maybe the stages Ichigo has to go through with the hollow side to gain his power is the same as with Zangetsu.
First he has to learn its name(I know he said he didn't have one, but maybe he's hiding it)
Then he has to befriend it like he did Zangetsu
Then the final stage he has to make it submit like he did with Zangetsu.
At this Point I think he'd achieve some sort of Double Release(Partial -> full -> then double?) because he'd have 2 sources of power. Thats how he'll be able to break the barrier, because he'll have twice the potential.
What Do yall think?(yes I know its not really technically a theory at all, just some inductive reasoning based on precedent) Perhaps the Hougyoku is similar to that thing Urahara made that Yoroichi used on him that lets him speed up the process.
Thats the only way I can think of short of another 10 years of training to gain immense power.
