Word has been building for months now, and comic fans have been dying to know- what is Spider-Man’s new costume?! Well, folks, here it is! Recognize the color scheme? You should, it’s playing an important role in the future of the web-slinger!

After the shocking events in "The Other" storyline, Peter recieves this new costume to help him adjust to his newest developments, as well as giving him some added muscle! Designed by Marvel Editor-In-Chief Joe Quesada, this new design has a few tricks up its sleeve. "The Iron Spider design- as I like to call it- came to me during a Spider-Man story meeting we were having, we were talking and I was involuntarily sketching on a pad. It's inspired by a sketch that Chris Bachalo did that showed a new Spidey costume with <CLASSIFIED>. I thought that was brilliant, especially since it echoed one of Spidey's greatest villains, and I took the idea and imagined it as though seeing it through the eyes of Tony Stark. The sky's the limit with respect to gadgetry when it comes to Tony inspired costumes."

The costume lets him change from gold yellow to red blue to the venom color. I think its just prefrence for him though considering this wont last long since he will eventually side against Tony in the civil war.

Spider-man was the first super hero I loved. Scarlet Spider is way cooler than anything else marvel has done. I will never forget you Ben Riley! I have read the frist couple of issues of Spider-man with the new costume. I don't really like the fact that he's now stronger and bullit proof. and as far as the cameras for looking around corners....umm.....didn't his spider sense do that? The colors remind me of Spider-woman who doesn't even use web...she flies. lame. Anyways, I totally believe that it's a civil war thing and a tony stark thing and I wouldn't be suprised if the colors didn't change soon anyways. ^it's a pretty big part of the civil war storyline. For the most part it's just a plot device. And While I love the original, symboite and scarlet spider costume about a 50 times more than this one, it has grown one me since it was introduced. It's been a pretty nice change, but I'm glad it'll be gone in a month or two.

Also... I don't see the costume lasting, because its sort of a symbol of Spidermans' partnership with Ironman. Latley, Spidey has been questioning Stark's motives.
