I know that FoR is old'd, and that it is Shonen, pure and simple, but it is damn good shonen schlock. I have loved the anime for years, and I am just now finally reading the manga--hence my rekindled passion for the series.

The action is all there, the characters are all very interesting, or have cool powers to make up for their shortcomings, or are both cool AND have sweet powers...and the action is very, very good. :oh

If you like Naruto, Bleach, HxH, Black Cat, or anything of the sort, then I have no doubt you will like Flame of Recca.

Domon is the most kick ass character ever. Not only does he have a mohawk and a nose ring, but he also dresses like a professional wrestler at times. What more can you want in a brawler type character? XD

But my fave character is definitely Domon, no doubt. There are several characters duking it out for #2, though: Kurei, Mikagami, Recca's dragons (esp. Setsuna), and Kage Hoshi are also awesome, IMO. :love

So, just curious: if you had some flame dragons, would you want them to have the same powers as Recca's, or would you opt for different powers? I have some ideas of what I would want, but I'll wait to share them. :amuse

That makes sense, haha. A stealthy fire dragon makes a lot of sense, even if Rui does kinda cover that base. :P

One dragon that I would really like to have would be a sort of psychic blade (think Psylocke from X-Men), that would pass through flesh and attack/destroy an enemies mind. That would be pretty useful in battle, I imagine. :amazed

Rui would be the dragon I would want by far. Its just so practical. It can be used for offense, defense, and just gerenal everyday things and fun :P Messing with people's minds is so fun lol

Ya, that was one of my favorite chapters, finally a shounen where the relationships actually go somewhere :cry

However, my favorite chapter by far is chapter 193 (The one with Kirin, Domon, and a pair of tits :P) That was seriously the funniest moment of the manga, I laughed so hard throughout the whole chapter that my sides actually hurt. Man, Domon is classic.

If my dragon would be one that has offensive ability itwould be black flame, that burns until the thing that is on fire is completly burned, and this flame can't be put out (I stole the idea from 666Satan LOL). pretty nasty ability.

That was the Recca and Yanagi kiss chapter where she finally confesses her feelings for him. It was so sweet and Recca's reaction was to priceless for words XD

Great chapter, really puts it apart from other Shounens IMO

Man, that was such a rollercoaster, especially those last two volumes! :omg

This series got better with every chapter, both in terms of the story telling and the art, and that reallu just blows my mind.

Figured I would use this chance to raise awareness to the awesomeness that is Flame of Recca :P
