Okay as we all know when ppl die they go to Soul Society/ Heaven. And I remember someone said that people stay the way they are in Soul Society and they dont age. But apparently we've seen plenty of characters in Bleach that were little when they died and grew up. Such as Rukia, Renji, Urahara and Yoruichi, and Tousen, Homamura, Minamori, Hitsugaya, Kira, Mitsumato, Ichimaru and I can go on longer. This brings me back to my point, that somebody in the beginning said people who enter Soul Society after they die do not age. Then why did these ppl age?
Maybe ones appearance in Soul Society is just a visual representation of ones soul. Thus someone could appear differently over time depending on the experience and "style" of the soul. A playful and/or inexperienced soul might seem younger than lets say a reserved and/or experienced one.

This is a question i always try to figure out. I put in some thoughts about the afterlife, heaven and soul society and i came up with nothing.

Heres my theory on how aging works:

Basically, you die, you go to SS, you stay the same age forever
Unless you develop spiritual powers, at which point you're develop a spiritual metabolism, hence why people with spiritual powers are the only ones that get hungry.
However, if you become a shinigami, said metabolism is halted by Shinigami powers.

also i've been wondering. how do you die when already dead? where do you go then? and what you said about you might seem young when you dont have much experience LJL. what about toushirou then? hes a captain and look way younger then all the other shinigamis. btw can you die of old age in SS?:P

Based on the timeglass analogy that was used to explain the flow of souls from the living world to Soul Society, people have assumed that it works both ways. In other terms, when you die in the real world, you are sent to the SS. When you die in the SS, you are sent back to the living world.

I didnt say that experience will necessarily make you appear old, I said that maybe it`s a representation of the style and/or experience of the soul. Your soul doesnt need to be like that of an old mans just because you`re experienced.
