Okay so in 62, Aizen opened that crack in the sky where he was taken into what I call "the Hollow world". But behind all those Menos Grande, there was this purple curved line. That thing looked like a closed eye, and if it was that thing would be huge. Anyway, back to the point, right after there was this line about a Gilian, and Im just wondering if any of u ppl know what it is. And just exactly how strong is a menos? Cause they seem pretty strong so far.

I don't think a menos grande is that strong. Remember, a beginner Ichigo could hurt one of them before he even got any of his training from even urahara (although he did do it with much trouble). But maybe that was just because he went all beserk and used that blast from zangetsu. But I still think that a combination of maybe a 3rd and 4th seat should be able to take one (especially kenpachi's squad). A captain should have absolutely no problem against one and I would think a vice captain would be able to fight one evenly.

And I have no idea what a "gilian" is. It's not an english word and I've never heard of it in Japanese. Maybe it's some bleach terminology. Maybe it's like the equivalent of a "baker's dozen" when talking about menos grande.

I don't know if its a level or two above menos but there hollows that are captin level or something.

The way Soi Fong's vice captain reacted, I would say "Gillian" was in reference to the Menos.

Perhaps another name for them? After all, in the beginning of the series, Rukia had all these different names for the different types of Hollows Ichigo fought.

Ok, I'll reveal to all of you the secret of the purple curved line. It's Aizen's Ban Kai. It has the power to mind control hollows and takes the form of a giant cyclops. It can also magically appear even though his zanpaktou is with him because its a space-time rift altering bankai that also has psychic powers and genjutsu and...and...thats all I got..

I just watched episode 62 for the 1st time about 3 hours ago, and well I thought it looked pretty clear that That was a uber hollow and that Aizen through his own words was gonna like either became that things equal or more likely surpass the thing that even menos grandes follow...

Also, I think the whole deal with Aizen became so hollowbred or something is kind of like the perfect excuse for him to be able to lose. I'm guessing when he becomes this uber thing his sword hypnosis (cheap. unbeaable ability) will no longer be useable and instaed he'll just have raw power outright. Along the lines, of that that surpass even the Soukyou and Ichigo.

P-nut take a chill-pill dude...Like what he says is true?:notrust

Anywayzz

And not only did Aizen control the Menos, he even controlled the Northern, Eastern and Southern Gate guards...Which were taken out by Kuukaku and Jidanbou...but anyways this only to make it more like Aizen has more power...and the fact of "He even joined up with the Menos" ..makes more sense to me in that way...that he has his people all over the place

What is the above person talking about. Aizen was controling something besides the menos grande?

I can't believe no one died in this whole arc, Hitsugya was basically cut in half, Hinamori was stabbed... Rukia had a gem pulled out from her...Renji has been beaten down again and again and again. Wth does it take to get killied in bleach GEZZZE

On topic: I watched the ep again and the gullian thing seems to be just another word for meno. Or maybe the fat guy was actually referring to the uber badasss eye thing behind them.

My point exactly, there's like so much friggin' blood in Bleach but no one actually dies. Like our man Ichigo has been sliced up like so many times and he just beats the crap out of the other guy anyway and Renji was practically cut into a million pieces.

Gillian is a rank of Menos.
Some info taken from Bleach7, it shouldnt spoil you.

In addition, Aizen has three different kinds of the most powerful hollows (Menos) under his control which he could use to destroy the Soul Society:
- Gillian (Menos Grandes) - They are no match for captain level shinigami since they relay on a primitive intellect
- Ajuukaru - Smaller than Gillian but far superior both intellectually and in combat. Not many of them exist.
- Vastoorode - Most humanoid and the most powerful type of hollow. Only few of them exists and they've manifested only in Hueco Mundo. 10 of them would bring a total chaos to the Soul Society.

The funny thing is, despite their 1337 healing skills, putting people cut in half back together and restoring arms, they still can't heal Ukitake's sickness

The question is, how did a vice captain like Oomaeda know about the ranks?

Menos Grande are weak as Hell...Anything about a 5th seat should be able to deal with one easily.

Hokage-of-my-hood / Yes, ordinary hollows use their intellect too, but they don't have as much power as a Menos Grande. Menos Grande don't use their intellect but they're powerful. So Ajuukaru are some half blood of them, have both power and intelligence.

Megaharrison / Well, they're weak, but don't forget that they are as strong as hell for the ordinary shinigami.

I doubt he was controlling the Menos Grande, more likely he "allied" himself with them. But then again, their arrival time was a bit too convenient, but I guess Gin or Tousen could've contacted them while Aizen was busy talking.

.
Actually more than 50 people died this arc. The Central 46 were all killed, if you aren't counting that, we saw about 5 people killed by Mayuri right before the Ishida/Mayuri fight.

You can't really base the strength of Menos Grande on one of them, aren't they basically a combination of many hollows? Don't hollows vary quite a bit? There's the one in the first episode cut down in one hit by Ichigo, then there's the Grand Fisher who fought Ichigo to near death and escaped, and there was a scene afterwards saying he wasn't using most of his power. So I'm sure the Menos Grande may differ in strength based on what hollows they are made of. Who knows, maybe by eating more hollows they get stronger.

I'm pretty sure it was probably a time they agreed to be extracted at. "It's time." That's what he says before he leaves. That sounds awfully like it was planned. He had everything planned down to the last minute or so.

I would agree he allied himself with the hollows as well. Clearly there's some upper hollow force that is akin, or similar, to the soul society. He must have contacted them at some point in his career and struck a deal.
