this is my way of making gifs, and hopefully no one else has posted how to also, lol.

my forums r down for awhile, sorry for the double post i am about to do also but it's for the tutorial.

okay first off u need 2 programs, VirtualDub and ImageReady

1. once u have these 2 open up VirtualDub first and open up the video u wanna rape and create a folder for the frames ur gonna take. Stellar is my folder name.

2. after u choose which video u want go to the part of the video and click on the arrow thing for where u want to start to get the frames.

3. then click the other one to stop where u want to make the frames.

4. afterwards save the image sequence in the folder u made so i would save mine in Stellar.

make sure u save it as a jpeg.

(Go back to the folder and delete frames u dun want in ur gif)

5. Open up ImageReady and import that folder's images as frames.

6. Then resize it how u like.

7. Then save it with "Save Optimized As"

nice tutorial, bt one question is it possible to rip frames from a DVD?

i tried doing it with infrared but it didnt let me so i had to open it up with media player and pause - save image etc etc took really long and the end result was i forgot to resize the images and the gif was too big lol

It's mostly the same.. only thing you need is a avi to .mov converter..

Imageready can play .mov files..

it's pretty easy to make it if you are good with photoshop

so how do i make somethign like tat in photoshop, do i have to edit every individual frame n then put them together? or r there programs that can like.............edit a gif, or edit all the frams 2gether.

Only thing that sucks is if you're animation is longish (around 100 frames or more) and you're forced to save it as optimized it gives the picture a rough quality. If you look at some of the longer animated GIFs on here, you can see the hundreds of little white dots in the pictures. Pretty much decreases the quality to lower the size of the animation. Which is okay, because if everyone had hi-def animations on here it would take forever to load a thread..
