quincy would make the best shinigami?

if someone like ishida or chad or orihime become shinigami would they keep their original powers? if so then wouldn't the real reason for the extermination of the quincy be that they would replace the current shinigami if they got a hold onto their powers? to me it doesn't seem logical to think that they were exterminated just because the hollow they kill don't go to SS. all the shinigami had to do is teach the quincy to turn their bows into some kind of bow soul cutter and they would be no problems with that.

imagine a quincy with shinigami powers:

the soul cutter spirit bow would be used for long range attacks
the kidou would be there to supplement their arsenal
if i'm not mistaken they have an ability that's similar than shunpo
all they would need is hand to hand combat training and maybe an extra zanpakutoh sword

You sorta have to be dead to be a Shinigami (or in Ichigo's case, have Shini powers within). The Qunicy are living humans that developed their own spiritual power.

... and carrying many weapons around isnt that handy, at all. Hey, c'moon, a sword and a kickass blade, they're a complete hindrance to eachothers and that combo just doesnt work. I'd rather use somekind of spirit bombs (kidou?) or those "guns" that Urahara invented, and forget about the sword.

A quincy that doesnt kill the hollow but sends it to SS would be cool tho.

quincy don't carry around their bows at all. all they need is that cross thing on their wrist to summon the bow.

as far as i know quincy powers or any power you adquire on earth do not disapear (my spelling is horrible i know) when you die. but if you can tell me the chapter when that is explained i wouldn't mind.

ok so maybe the quincy can't get a zanpakutoh bow while they are alive but after dieing they could become shinigami and do it no?

Exactly, nor would they want to, they don't believe in "saving" those who've killed. Its also due to their "human logic". Afterall, they lead shorter lives as well.

not all of them were like that. i'm sure uryuu's grandpa didn't think like that. i'm also sure that the other quincy had minds and beliefs of their own so not all of them were like ishida said they were.

Theres a difference between individual mentality, and group mentality. As a whole, they believed that, maybe not each individual, but when hundreds are upsetting the balance of the universe, yea...you kinda have to stop them.

Zanpaktou are from a person's soul using their own reiatsu.

Quincy arrows gather reiatsu from the area around them. In other words, unless their energies are coming from Shinigami nearby, their energies cant be "tuned" to shinigami energy.

Its two completely different sources of power. Which actually makes Sado and orihime's powers different from Quincies.

Well as far as I understand it they do maintain their quincy nature when they die. This is based on Mayuri saying how he experimented on them after they were killed. But I dont know if from there they can get shinigami from then. But who knows there may be quincy who have hidden Shinigami in them. Considering we are doing Hollow and Shinigami hybrids now, I wouldnt put it up to Kubo to do a Quincy Shini or Quincy Hollow mix

But if any could do that they'd be pretty damn powerful being able to use their own power while absorbing and manipulate the power around them as well as their opponents.

Your point was that they wouldn't have to be exterminated if they got shinigami cleansing, but the fact is that they would be because they can't have it. Zanpaktou aren't "similar" to Quincy bows. And more importantly, they DONT CARE about the balance. As a whole, they WANT to destroy Hollows.
