I've noticed that a lot of artists do sketches in blue, which I assume is pencil crayon... I've also seen red, but it's usually blue. Why is this? If it's something cool I'm missing out on, I've gotta know. :nuts

It's nothing special. It's just to help them see their sketches in more detail than using regular pencils or pen.

That, and blue isn't visible on printed pages, that's why mangaka use them...
It's also very usefull if your tracing the sketch with a pen...

Ah, thank you you guys. ^_^ Is it erasable blue pencil? Does it have a special name? I'd like to try it...
Also, what do you mean Printed Pages? Is it like... The mangaka sketches, then inks (not getting rid of the blue), and that page is copied for use in shonen jump, or whatever?
