Next Crew member discussion

Let's talk about the next crew member. Me thinks the next person who should join is a musician. Luffy kept on suggesting on one before, I wonder if he'll ever have one. Well...I hope either Franky or Paulie joins them.

Actually, I think Franky. In addition to building warships in the past, having ,ajor development, and actually almost playing music, he's very strong and not a DF user.

Paulie's a so-so fighter. I can't see him beating any of the four agents.

i am not sure but i want Franky join Luffy Crew since if Franky assist to Luffy Crew in recent manga , HE will wanted then abandon his home and his crew franky crew

Either Franky or Paulie, but right now Franky has more typical Straw Hat qualities. . .Crazy attacks, a backstory, a goal etc etc. My money is on Franky.

Well, Usopp had an obligation to entertain his village. You saw how pissed everyone was when he didn't run around yelling that pirates were coming.

With the exception of Wiper, any character that took a few chapters to explain their backstory became a crew member.

But did you think they would give character development to Franky when he was first introduced? It came as a surprise like with Vivi. Though there's a huge chance he will be the next member, there's still a slight chance that Paulie will be developed, especially due to Lucci and Kaku's betrayal.

personally i highly doubt franky will be the next crew member, reason why, although they gave him a back story they did the same for iceburg and vivi although i really wouldn't like to have franky on the crew mainly because he doesn't seem like a huge asset, because the only thing i see is that huge air blast thing that does a hella amount of destruction but most of his moves just seem to be jokes i mean when he was fighting nero i was like "come on man show a serious side when your fighting" plus i would just like to see a new devil fruit user join up so that the strong people in the group (atleast referred to by luffy) aren't just him and zoro, and somtimes sanji. Plus Franky has way to many followers to just up and leave his crew would have to be completely destroyed for him to leave.

i personally think franky will join.. he just fit in well there.. paulie.. i think he cares too much of iceburg to leave him alone.. after these whole incident.. and paulie hasn't even reveal his dream... franky had his dream.. vivi and wiper, although they have flashback, doesn't have a long term dream (rescue alabasta and to fulfill ancestor's wish). Franky has a long term ones. so i think.. he will be the next crew..

franky won't join, he does not have a dream to chase after like everyone else on board, besides he would be happier to build ships with iceburg in water 7, spend some quality time with the frog, his own gang rather than going on some crazy journey. They're probabaly just gona teach ussoop how to fix ships n stuff.

i just cant imagine paulie as a member, other than rope techniques hes not that much more impressive than nami. at least franky's overall interesting and he copes really well with usopp

We know Franky joining the crew but the true question is what kind of person will be joining the crew later in the series...

Remember the episode after Zoro agreed to join Luffy's crew? Luffy said he wanted 10 crew members. Counting Vivi and Franky, Luffy has currently has 8 crew members!

We still have at least two more to think about!! I'm betting on a musician and a merman! The strawhat crew needs a merman! None of them are good in underwater battles so it'll be a great addition!

i doubt that they actually get a logia type. so far the mugiwara have been 'underdogs' supposedly underpowered and beating the opposition anyway. if they get a Logia, unless its some really lame one, they wont be taken nearly as lightly.

well, that depends. i would agree with you, anyone who takes Luffy or the Mugiwara lightly is mentally retarded. however, with great power (enough to pose a threat to the mugiwara) comes great ego. Check Croc for example, or Enel, both thought themselves the best thing since sliced bread until pwnd by Luffy. I'm sure the next 'boss' will be pretty close to the same, seeing luffy as some upstart punk needing to be put in his place. Seems to go hand in hand with villainy. :P

I tried backtacking to look for this topic you spoke of, but couldn't find it. Can you please further elaborate (examples are good enough) on this topic?

well, for one example (i never read that thread, i dont think) Usopp told Kaya about the giant Goldfish that pooped big enough to be mistaken for islands. Later on they meet said Goldfish outside of Little Garden. :P

lol Franky's character was made just to be a Mugiwara pirate IMO.
First off: the foreshadowing, they needed a carpenter to fix the ship,
2nd: his past, the disciple of the best ship builder ever, who got screwed over by the world gov't. c'mon...
3rd: him fighting with the Luffy and Co. to save Robin.
