I just read ch 394 and omg we will finally find out what the big fuss is about the blank 100 years! (well a theory at least) I know everyone knows this but i just had to announce it.
Well to my real point. I was actually wonder how the story will play out after the water 7 arc. Like who is the new shipmate (cough franky cough) Also wat the future arcs would be and etc.
I have started the one piece manga from the begining recently and refreshed my mind and realized that One piece will goooo forever.
For example after the water 7 arc they can throw some fillers like they usually do and then they will either go into the black beard situation or finally show shanks and white beard. Each of these arc can easily last as long as a major arc and i tink everyone would agree with me.
Then obvioiusly after this arc they will be major threats to the government so the admirals (most likey vice admirals will come into major arcs for the luffy and co)
Then there are also dozens of more islands to visit before gettin to the last island.
OOO yeah and there are still 6 more shibukai (forget how to spell) but man i would assume those 6 would be an arc on its own. so man one piece will be around till we are 60. LOL
Also i have seen a foreshawdow thread and wanted to say that they will eventually hit the giants home town eventually (hopefully soon) also with the appearence of the giant guardians it seems most likey a giant arc may be next you never know.
I know my ideas are all over the place so please put your thoughts.
I know this is a cluttered mess but i wanted also ask if the american verson of one piece have been heavily edited like the 4kids adaption of one piece anime? (down wif 4 kids for wat they did to one piece)
I can take the ZORO TO ZOLO change and etc and gomu gomu pistol to punch or watever. But if they take out any major plot points i will never buy the one piece american version manga. I would rather learn japanese and import them over (which would be awesome)
Thanks in advance

Interesting idea. It would make sense for there to be an arc involving giants now especially considering the situation with the giant on Ohara.

I've only read a few chapters of Viz's version of the One Piece manga, but there doesn't seem to be anything (or at least a noticiable amount of) edits. Certainly not as heavily edited as 4kids' version, so no they don't take out any major plot point as far as I know.

Man, the world goverment really are godam corrupt, i swear thats one of the biggest flaws in one piece. Even if they are cp9, i don't know how they can want to kill so many people....urgh :cry

OMG i love that tag kinuta of the SH crew swttt. i must haveee and yeah the world government is corrupt like every government. If anything Oda is protrayin a very realistic government with good (smoker, that dog admiral seems good) and the bad (CP9, morgan, etc)
If you think that the goverment in real life dont do stuff that the ppl wouldnt agree wif you are very much mistaken.
To me the whole series is protrayed very good becasue the SH crew are seen as bad but do so many good deeds but since they are under the assumtion of being like pirates, they are automatically bad. Where the marines are suppositly good, but have a fair amount of shaddy ppl in it as well.

Yeh, they haven't actually commited any crimes...well not enough to be hanged in my opinion..all luffy has done is pwn some other wanted pirates
I mean...what did gold roger do that was so bad as well :cry
dam cp9!
Well.... they've caused a great deal of damage ... basically nearly everywhere they go. They've also attacked many government agents and marines... some corrupt, maybe others not so much....
But with the history the government is so bent on making it seem as if it didn't happen and the desire to get Pluton, at least away from pirates or people who may create it for pirates, there might be an underlying reason to get rid of pirates aside from the fact that they are pirates. Or it could be something Gol D. Roger did or came close to doing.

Okay the world government is corrupted and really stupid. The only reasons why they've given Luffy and Zoro huge bounties, is because both of them just beat up guys who "represent" that government. Other than that, they've done nothing wrong.

yeah, I can only imagine what the straw hats bounties will be like after this arc is done.
They didnt really get any credit for the Crocodile incident, but leading an attack on a major government installation, and the possibility that they will have both a person who can translate the glyphs and the pluton blueprints in their possession (not certain, but its possible.) leads me to think that they are gonna have bounty values skyrocket. Easily as high as any of the 7 did before they allied with the government.

Oda has already said he doesn't intend to make One Piece his life's work, 'cause he seems to have bigger, better goals. Plus, he said we hit the half-way mark volumes ago, and while I do believe it's quite possible for him to underestimate the material left to finish, I doubt he's too far off.
Anybody remember when it was, exactly, that he said he was half finished? Like early Skypiea, methinks.

Well, there have to be at least two more major arcs: one dealing with all of the pirates, Shikibukai and others who will be after them (Aokiji, Blackbeard and Ace, Donquixote Doflamingo and his New Era, etc.) and one dealing with finding One Piece (probably featuring confrontations with Shanks, Mihawk and Whitebeard) and the final showdown with the World Government that must follow. Both of these arcs would be at least as long as the current one. I suppose they could be combined in one super-arc, but that would be unwieldy.

I rather Oda make One Piece his life's work. It just doesn't seem to be able to end. Let's list what happened in 500 chapters.
The enemies shown are:
The Shikubukai
Whitebeard
Shanks (There has to be conflict to see who's crew is stronger or something)
Blackbeard (who might become a Shikubukai, although it'll be hard since he has a crew)
The three admirals and the grand admiral.
And that's all the enemies that were introduced into the background.
So all we had was the Straw Hats beating up all the strongest pirates in the East Blue, then we had him beat Crocodile, then Eneru. Now, we are about to have a confrontation with the marines. (or more specificially, CP9)
Now if we're assuming that Oda WANTS to showcase all of those pirate/marines, then it will go on for a good 800 or 900 more chapters. And that's saying around 80 per Shikubukai (seems right, except for Mihawk) and 100 or so for the Marines and the final ones where they encounter Shanks and Whitebeard. This seems to be able to go on for quite a while.
I just hope Oda doesn't die or lose heart before the whole manga is over.

Amen to that.

Oda doesn't have to show all of the Shichibukai or Admirals; it's likely that only Aokiji and Sengoku of the Marines and Donquixote Doflamingo, What's-his-name Bear, Mihawk and maaaybe Jinbei of the Shichibukai will appear, possibly in the same arc.

I am hoping that he would show all the Shikubukai and the admirals, or it will be a waste. I just hope they don't keep replacing members, as then it would never end. Maybe make this blow to the government (CP9) so great they cannot concentrate on adding new Shikubukai, but instead trying to save their reputation as word gets out the Marines were defeated by 60 pirates. This will then allow Luffy and the Straw Hats to take down the rest of the Shikubukai.

the calm belt is the sea on the side of the grand line. No wind or current in the calm belt and a breeding ground for the sea kings
